Continuing the Sons of Anarchy saga, Kurt Sutter’s award-winning series that was the highest-rated ongoing drama series in FX history for seven seasons, Mayans MC will premiere on Tuesday, September 4. The Mayans were recurring and pivotal players in Sons of Anarchythroughout the show’s seven-year run. Mayans MC is set in a post-Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, fresh out of prison, is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy who had the American Dream within his grasp.

The wild flowers all doing whatever it was they did while Mayans ride by is cool. Can't say I'm too excited about the show though. I'll give it a looksie, but I can't help, but think. Even if it isn't Sutter's intentions. How can the show not end up being some type of SofA: The Mexican Edition.

I once read that a prequel type show of how SofA came into existence and what went down with John Teller, a young Clay and young Gemma was in the works. That to me sounded like a lot more interesting show.

We'll see though I guess. Maybe The Mayans will be the shit.

I remember my wife telling me about that in the middle of SoA when we were into it. Too bad that didn’t happen, I agree it’s a way better idea.

Sons of Anarchy is one of the very few shows I was completely into (Better Call Saul is another). Amazing show.

Mayans looks extremely promising. And it's not some meaningless prequel. Instead it takes place 3 years after the final episode of SONS. Will watch.

I stuck out the whole series despite him. He was terrible with his accent and seemed to try to compensate by yelling a lot. The range of acting quality and ability in the show was really weird. Basically, it was a soap opera for dudes.

That said, gonna check Mayans out too...

I saw an interview with Kirk Sutter where he said that he wanted to end SOA by having Jax come out of a dream type sequence while riding a moped into a Starbucks. Would have been epic...
