We? So Cal?

Yeah. Seemed like every time I checked the weather report, it was talking about the rain bypassing SoCal and going to NorCal.

You greedy bastards took all our rain. lol

those teams got better and the Heat did nothing this offseason. Giannis is a star and they will have a full year of Bledsoe and Middleton and added Illysova and Lopez. The Pacers added Evans and have a budding star in Turner.

I think the Pacers could be a darkhorse in the East. They are solid everywhere, and have depth.

Turner in his 3rd year is a 12.7 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 1.3 APG, and 1.8 BPG player.

Indiana by all accounts overachieved last year.

This is one of your far-fetched posts, yet again.

i agree that the ego is the problem- i just dont see how that equates to the Rockets thinking he will be anything more than their 6th most important player.

for them- since they arent counting on him- i think he is a decent signing. If he doesnt work out and is an issue they can just cut him or trade him no problem with a 2M dollar cap figure. Seems low risk/potential nice reward if he works out- if not just cut him.

its hard for me to see him, at best, anything more than a 4th or 5th offensive option- playing like 25 minutes a game.

I think we just disagree on how important the Rockets think he is. The way they talk, it seems like they think he'll be a difference maker.

But I do agree that it could just be what they have to say to not bruise his ego.

They certainly can't say, "Yeah, we think he has a great chance to be our 6th best player". lol

I expect it won't take long to find out how important the Rockets really think he is.

@WiggyRuss

You'll be around for the season right? Don't pull a vanishing act once the season tips off. And since you can't shut up about Riley I just wanted to remind you about the stupid decision Danny Boy made by firing David Griffin. Danny gots the deep pockets but he gots shit fer brains.

I'm trying to figure out why Dan Gilbert didn't just buy 4 other all stars to replace Lebron with his supposedly deep pockets. You know, since he's willing to outspend the entire league by a wide margin.

oh yah...2 years from now when Curry is 32 and Durant is 31, Dray is 30, and Klay is 30 they will be looking to rebuild- (even say add a year to those guys for when their bdays are- to lazy to look it up- but even say Curry is 33, Durant 32, Dray 32, Klay 32- and even say one of them leave) -----but LeBron who is 33 now and will be 35 (well in his age 36 season*) will be just peppy and ready to compete?

how do you square that?

Didn't you say that there's no way that GS would be able to keep that team together just under a year ago?

i think oladipo won MIP last year. I think Turner could win it this year. The guy is still only 22 years old but has all kinds of talent/athleticism.

I said you cant have 4 max players on the same team for any length of time. I still dont think they can. I think they will sign Thompson- kick the can down the road, and then probably trade Thompson and resign Draymond.

No team can carry 4 max's- especially when 2 of them are super max's like Curry and Durant.

hes what? at best there 6th most important player? Its like saying the Lakers are counting on Stephenson to get them to the playoffs.

Melo probably is their 6th most important player.

But, if they want to give the Warriors any type of challenge this year, he has to play like their 3rd.

Yep.

Turner WAS a budding star 2 years ago. He isn't as exciting anymore. It is possible he still develops, but more likely that he will be an above average starter, not a star.

That's a pretty solid idea. Where'd you get that from?

we shall see wont we?

I think he especially has shown some promise because he was taking 2.4 threes a game and hitting 36% of them--- while that is pretty statistically irrelevant for the most part- being 6' 11" and at age 22 doing that shows that he might be able to grow into a decent three point shooter down the line some day. While he regressed elsewhere- showing that he might have that skill set made me even more excited about his ceiling down the line. If at 6'11" and his skill set and defensive potential he can add a three point shot that teams have to pay attention to- watch out.

Andre Drummond is shooting 3s now.

In 10 years, almost every big man will be shooting 3s. Turner is a modern big and he is good. I would take him on my team for sure. But he is a secondary player at best, IMO.
