honestly if i was like rich as shit- California would be a great place to live- but if you are not rich and cant get away from all the negatives it would be really trying to live there.

tons of illegal immigration. highest taxes in the nation. wildfires. earthquakes. crazy traffic. housing costs are INSANE- esp. in any of the nice areas of San Fran, SAn Diego, LA etc...

If i like won the powerball - or conversely, was making like half a mill a year or something- it would be really cool--- and dont get me wrong- some of it is positively gorgeous- but a lot of it seems like a big time pain in the ass.

I mean- what are the chances that me or you could ever get a sweet place in like Huntington Beach or something? next to nothing. I love visiting out there- and have a few friends out there--- in San Fran, SD, --- one of my best friends is in some little shitty rental in huntington beach taht he pays an arm and a leg for and thats AFTER getting a ton of help from his mom- and he has a pretty decent job.

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. If I had my way, I'd have been out of here a long time ago. However, as long as the grandkids and my wife's Mom are in California, we're not going anywhere.

Huntington Beach was my old stomping grounds in my teenage and young adult years. I even lived there for awhile in the 80's and rents, etc. were pretty reasonable.

Now? I could live there, but wouldn't be able to afford to do much of anything else and I make a lot more than I did back then.

What will happen with Patrick McCaw?

I just CANNOT believe no one has given McCaw a good RFA offer...I mean this guy was gonna be AMAZING from the bullshit I heard when he was drafted. LOL

I think its beyond obvious that he is what most sane people thought- a back end of the bench guy happy to be on a roster that is just simply not relevant. Trash. 13th, 14th, 15th guy material.

Only a matter of time before he is in the gleague or overseas.

Literally nobody ever said he was great.

I said I thought he could make the rotation because of his defense, which he did. You keep trying to make this something it is not.

LOL make the rotation.

Year 1: 15 minutes a game- 71 games- 4.0 points, 1.1 assist, 1.4 boards, 43% shooting 33% from 3
Year 2: 16.9 minutes a game- 57 games 4.0 points, 1.4 apg, 1.4 rpg, 41% shooting- 24% from 3

Qualifying offer of 1.6M....no one else interested in giving him anything.

I dont even want to call a 2nd rounder a "bust" because that would connotate actual expectations- so I will call him what he is- simply a "miss"- a guy not good enough- if hes lucky end of the bench scrub--- hoping against hope to hang around long enough to get a pension before he is banished to the g-league or overseas.

Certainly nothing like a viable 3 and D rotation player that actually meaningfully contributes.

any team in the NBA could ahve this scrub for 2 years 5M if they wanted to. But, of course, no one does.

people always over exaggerate the negatives about Cali. The truth is that most of the people that are here - whether they're from here or move here tend not to leave.

All the financial reasons you listed are mute points because while we do pay more taxes we also make more money than most other states - so the adjustment process is the same. Wildfires happen everywhere. Earthquakes only happen 100 years or so...last major one we experienced was back in 1989. Besides those things we have great weather and are geographically located in the most perfect spot. What other state do you know of where you can surf & ski in the same day? lol

Yes and no. The rains we had in 2016 or 17 did effectively end the drought. But then we went right back to not getting much rain this past fall and winter.
I don't know about So Cal but we got plenty of rain last year in Nor Cal.

You do realize that earning playing time is the definition of making the rotation? Right?

You are still having trouble understanding what that means.

Because all I said was that he had some potential and that his defense should allow him to make the rotation in year 1.

I was right, you were wrong. Own it.

sorry but to me "being a rotation player" is not playing 15 minutes a game and getting 4 points a game.

To me that is the definition of end of the bench scrub.

California seems like a nice state to visit but not sure if it would be a good place to live given the fires, earthquake threats and high taxes.

You can define it any way you like.

In the Language of basketball, any player who averages 15 minutes a game is a rotation player. Statistical output has nothing to do with it.

So if you want to define "rotational player" differently than the rest of the basketball world, then go right ahead. But you were still wrong. And no matter how you try to twist it and change the narrative, that fact is not changing.

It's hilarious how upset you get when I talk a little shit about your team. Why is it that only you fly off the handle? The other Lakers fans don't piss themselves w/ anger when I say something about the team. Yet you have an issue w/ anything I say about duh Purple n Gold in a sarcastic manner. Lighten up & go buy yourself a sense of humor since you obviously don't have one.
She actually needs a dildo because clearly her husband isn't laying it down in the bedroom right.

No, I have.

I just enjoy putting him in his place when he is definitively wrong. Like here.

Yeah, California definitely has its negatives.

But, what place doesn't?

The most bizarre crimes happen in the States of Florida, California and Ohio.

I'm talking sex slaves, holding motherfuckers captive for decades, burying dozens of people in the back yard.

But, at least Florida and California have women, weather, weed and excellent nightlife.

Ohio has a nifty Clinic and a museum.

If you have to wade thru the Shit no matter where you live, might as well do it in great weather.
