It didn’t turn out well last time Ohio State had a coach that beat players on the field

Woody Hayes was one of the greatest college coaches.

Today we are plagued by political correctness.

Auburn would likely have to cut the check.
Not if he left, only if they fired him. Think it through and eventually you'll get there.

Auburn would have to pay tOSU to take him, then they could use the money to buy Urban out of his contract.

Everyone wins.

Woody Hayes was one of the greatest college coaches.

That game always pissed me off. We should have been there,
but the Gator Bowl reneged on an agreement in the middle of the
week.

We had 3 bowls that wanted us. The Freedom Bowl, The Bluebonnet
Bowl and the Gator Bowl. The Gator Bowl told us and Ohio St
that they would make their selection after the final game of the
season. OSU was 7-2-1 going into the last game, we were 7-3.
The Freedom and Bluebonnet told us they couldn't really keep the
spot open to the end of the season, and they made selections on
Monday.

At the time, we had never beaten Florida in back-to-back seasons.

OSU told the Gator Bowl, they were not going to wait. They would
have to be invited before the final game of the season.

So on Tuesday the Gator Bowl extended the invitation to Ohio St.
They then proceeded to get whipped by Michigan 14-3 and we
trounced Florida 38-21. To finish at 8-3 with no bowl bid.

Over the years, the Gator Bowl changed the rules on us a few times. I was always irked that we accepted a bid to the Gator Bowl
for Bobby's final game. That was going to be a sell-out no matter
where it was played. (We wanted Orlando) We should have paid them back.
