It wouldn't be a shock if he did go pro. He's without question the best actual pro prospect at QB we've had in a very long time. He's 6'3", 220, and has excellent arm strength and accuracy. If he comes out and shows command of the offense, he'll be in great shape for the draft.

I’d think if he had two years in as a starter he’d be drafted higher. But your team looks damn good this year so him jumping at a chance to make good money if it should come after one year may be the way to go.

So ATF, which game are you guys going to "Iowa up" this year? @Purdue?, @Sparty?

I say your bucknuts still get in the CFP if you win the CCG...even with a hiccup somewhere along the way.

It's funny, that logic cost Cardale Jones millions. After we won the title, he was being projected as a late first-early second round pick. Then he came back and wound up going in like the 4th. Oops.

It may be decades before we see another "Iowa" game. I still cannot for the life of me figure it out. OSU was a top 10 team defensively so it just makes no sense. Now, Barrett turning the ball over constantly didn't help matters, but it's still just a complete anomaly.

For the upset alert aspect, Purdue is a solid choice. They're a very well-coached team, and it wouldn't be the first time they've upset us, that's for sure.

Since 2000 Purdue has the highest winning percent against us in the b1g

I like

Nick Bosa - tOSU
Celin Ferrell - Clemson
Greg Little - Ole Miss

QBs
Herbert - Oregon
Fromm - Georgia
Patterson - Michigan
I'm conflicted on these predictions of Patterson. Obviously, if he's going to the NFL that means he did well at Michigan. But I'd like at least two years out of him....knowing that's probably unrealistic. The price of success I guess.

I think best case scenario to keep him and still have a decent year is something like 9-4 with an injury late in the season. I don’t see him staying if he brings you back to 10+ wins. Too much money to leave on the table with so much risk. Or he’s bat shit crazy like LJ Scott.

Sometimes kids stick around despite the paycheck...but with Patterson, everything seems to be with the NFL in mind. He chose Michigan because that gave him the best shot to start immediately at a major school and get to the NFL.

And that’s what you get when your coach is going after mercs. It’s like getting a one and done in college basketball. You hope for more than one year but know what you are getting when you sign on for that.

I just don't see the love for Patterson. He doesn't do well against top competition.

Last year's stats against P5 teams

186 Att. 106 comp 58.2% 1341 yds 7.36 YPA 8 TDs 7 Int.

In before “he’s surrounded by better players” now.
