Saqw a report that about 2/3 of the New England patriots players are pretty much at Gillette Stadium every day working out. Seems that a lot of guys are really going to put 100% effort into making the Patriots team.

We've had an inkling as to when the Patriots will begin training camp. Every year, it's around the same time. But the team made their camp schedule official on Thursday.

Patriots veterans will report July 27, and the first public practice will occur the next day on the fields behind Gillette Stadium.

This will be the team's 57th training camp and their 14th consecutive camp at Gillette Stadium. As usual, practices are free and open to the public. Dates and times for practices beyond July 28 will be updated on Patriots.com for fans interested in attending. Fans can also call the training camp hotline (508) 549-0001 for more information.

The Patriots will host joint practices with the Saints beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Aug. 9 and 10 ahead of the 2016 preseason-opener on Aug. 11 at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots will also hold joint practices with the Bears on Aug, 15 and 16 prior to their preseason game at Gillette on Aug. 18. All four of those joint sessions will be open to the public.

The Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony for former running back Kevin Faulk will be held on Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. on the NRG Plaza just outside The Hall at Patriot Place. After the ceremony, the Patriots will hold their annual in-stadium practice for season-ticket holders and Foxboro residents at 7 p.m.

Since they're not even playing the Saints or Bears in PS and that blurb mentions 2016, I'm guessing that's an outdated reference.

The article I copied was dated 7/6/2018. I know it's old, but not that old.

Understood, I'm just saying the information in the article is clearly outdated....someone probably cut and pasted the same blurb about training camp from their 2016 article and forgot to to edit out the joint practice info.

There are definitely no joint practices this year:

Analysis: Disappointed Patriots are dis-joint-ed

If what I put out there is incorrect, I apologize. No evil intent on my part. Saw the article and decided to stick it out there for everyone to see. I'm sorry if I screwed up anyone's plans.

The local sports people are so starved for news that everything is becoming pathetic.

Football, Hockey and Basketball are all in their off season. Baseball has been ob it's annual All-Star break.

Most reporters are just starting to come back from 3-4 week vacations and have decided to dredge up old news in an attempt to pukk in viewers and listeners. If you live up here in New England the last two days have been horrendous. It's so bad that NBCSB sent a crew to Miami to watch the Dolphins work out in shoulder pads, gelmets and shorts. Of course, they had to interview Danny Amendola. What do you think the major subject of the interview was?? His new contract??....No. The difference between Tannehill and Brady??......No.

How about.....Did you ever ask Bill Belichick why Malcolm Butler didn't play in the Super Bowl??? .....BINGO....
We have a winner!!!!! DA's answer. I have no idea why MB didn't play and BB never said anything about it.

Danny, is this the reason that Tom and Bill aren't speaking?? DA....What?? Who said they're not speaking, I don't know anything about that at all.

Headline on Boston Sports Tonight........Does Anyone Really know How Bad The Feelings Are Between Brady and Belichick? This hemmeroid should be bleeding by Opening Day of training camp. Even ESPn is starting to pick up on it.

Some one tweet yesterday (Friday 7/20) that Patriots Training Camp finally opens in 6 days.

BOSTON MEDIA FREAKS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom Brady apparently followed the tweeter and corrected him.

Per Tom Brady ......................... Wrong, 2 days for #EarlyReporters.

BOSTON MEDIA FREAKS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brady wouldn't respond to all of the Boston Media that absolutely BugFvck. But they finally got some un-named Patriotsplayers to confirm that just about the entire team will be in Gillette this Sunday. Primarily the running backs, wide receivers and tight ends. It's expected that Brady and the skill players will be working on passing and pass routes. The media is moving enmass to Gillette, but knowing how Brady has been yanking their chains all winter, my guess is that the workouts will be in the domes and closed to everyone but players and coaches.

Legally, accorsing to league and NFLPA rules, coaches CANNOT participate in workout, but my guess is that Tom will invite Josh and his staff to sit in and make comment.

IT'S OFFICIAL..............................TOM BRADY OPENS 2018 PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP SUNDAY JULY 22, 4 DAYS EARLY!!

@MikeReiss

First-year safety David Jones (Richmond), who spent last year on the Patriots practice squad, was informed of his release by the team. The Patriots now have 2 open spots on their 90-man roster.

Any word why? Did he fail the conditioning test?

Michel agreed to the contract back in May but his agent didn't like the way the fifth year was set up. After negotiations reached an impass, the Patriots cut off the 5th year and reduced the total dollars. Sony signed a 4 year deal.

I know that a lot of kids coming out of college hate that 5th year for 1st round picks, but generally, that added year juices the contract. Agents, 98% of whom have never played football, tend to ignore the fact that the average career in the NFL is less than 4 years. Most of them are looking for that $50M contract that they get 3% of ($1.5M) but more so the residuals from sneakers, cleats and advertising (8%). Screw the kid in hopes of a huge payday in 4 years.

The fifth year option is rough for a RB they already have short careers and at most a very very lucky if they get more than one lucrative deal. Look at Bell in Pitt that RB deserved to be paid it's a tough deal for RBs.
