Rivers has actually had some playoff success - which somewhat gets overshadowed by his teams recent struggles in the W/L column. This is very close between him and Romo for me. I would probably take Rivers, though.

Ryan is right there too, but just a tad behind.

What exactly is it about Romos career that is inspiring people to vote for him? His numbers aren't as good as a few of these guys, hes never won a MVP, hes never made a SB or even a NFC title game. Guy had a good career but there really isn't any metric you can point to that favors him by any significant amount and he certainly didn't have the playoff success to overcome that

I voted Stafford but I can't argue Rivers. Both would have won a SB w McNabb's Eagles.

Dont know why people cant remember that McNabb was a superstar for many years.

Maybe because he played in irrelevant Philly? Just a guess.

If you say so even though we are a top 5 market in the NFL with EASILY the best fans in the league. I mean freaking Boston likes baseball more then football.

Romo was really good and came in 2nd for MVP a few years ago. He just has the lack of playoff wins going against him. He is a likable guy too but I'm taking McNabb over him. Romo was a better pure QB but when McNabb could run he was fantastic. Made the pro bowl many years straight, tons of playoff wins, 2nd in MVP one year, first QB to throw for more then 30 TDs and less then 10 INTs. From 2000-2004 he was fantastic. The guy had absolutely NOTHING to work with and put the O on his back. Freaking Duce Staley, Torrance Small and Todd Pinkston as your weapons. But when he couldnt run anymore he was done because he was never an accurate QB. Great deep ball though.

One of four sports that city loves.
Now who are you again?

A follower of the SB champs and Boston is one of those few backwards ass places that likes baseball first.

Just like children. There is love for all them. It's a curse having so many great teams.

It's definitely Rivers in my view. Think of the shit he has had to play with.

He's the 4th highest rated passer in NFL history. Statistically speaking, he was a very good QB. Or at the very least a very efficient QB.

Sure. Most all these guys are/were get good quarterbacks. I was just speaking to results

It's fine if you want to talk about results, but to say his "numbers aren't as good," is a bit dishonest. Romo proved, through his numbers, to be a highly efficient QB.

So your complaint is that he didn't compile enough stats? Weren't you earlier complaining that all Rivers did was compile stats?

Statistically speaking, Romo deserves to be in the conversation. Even though his numbers aren't prodigious, they do speak to how effective Romo was as passer. He was one of the most efficient passers, even if he didn't have overly-gaudy numbers.
