He's a compiler st this point. Lots of guys can get 1800 yards with 406 touches. Just reality . 2014 Bell was elite, even 2016. Last year Bell just got the ball a lot
What??? You are off your rocker. Guy is still fantastic. You should have just stuck with your regressing comments instead. Technically they were true. Best back in the league by a lot to best back in the league by a little is technically regressing.

YPC is pretty fickle usually. No, Bell isn't averaging 5 every single year. There's being out in front and then accusing him of being a compiler.

What else do you call a guy with average metrics but a lot of attempts?? Unlucky ?

Does anyone with a straight face take Le'Veon Bell over AJ Green, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown when they signed their last contracts? Demaryius Thomas?
I would be very surprised if most GMs had a choice to start a team and took Thomas over Bell

You're nuts lol. The best RBs in the league are marginally better than average backs . That's why they dont get paid. RBs are a dime a dozen
But Zeke is the only reason Dak is any good:scratch:

Take it from a Vikings fan when I say that breaking the bank on an RB is a big mistake. The Vikings handicapped their franchise for 6 years when they decided to pay Adrian Peterson his mega contract back in 2011. They put all of their eggs into the AP basket instead of investing that excess money spent on him back into a few O-line players with a focus of finding a franchise worthy QB instead of trying to find one that could work with AP.

Granted the Bell situation is slightly different. Bell has been much more multi-dimensional as a player than AP, so finding a QB that can work well with him shouldn't but as difficult in theory. That goes both ways though, as Bell has had a HOF QB handing/throwing him the ball and taking pressure off the running game his whole NFL career up to this point. Meanwhile, AP spent the vast majority of his career with QB's who were barely fit to be third stringers. Regardless, while Bell has certainly earned a nice payday, Pittsburgh would be much better off looking to a younger player in the draft or a less expensive free agent and saving than money while letting some other team overpay Bell. RB, even in the case of generational talents like Adrian Peterson, has proven to be a very foolish position to invest super heavily in for the past couple of decades in the NFL. That's just the reality of the situation.
No it's completely different IMO. Pitt already has a SB winning QB and plenty of offensive talent around him. They are a SB caliber roster already with him and have been on the verge a few times. Should they have offered what they did? More? I don't know but your description of what you think Minn should have done instead of paying AP isn't really applicable here. Plus the salary cap is about 50% higher now than 2011 but the deal offered Bell wasn't really higher than AP got ($14M per year)

iowa and kirk ferentz
Absolutely . And even Ferentz had 5 elite years. Bell has 2 elite years. 2 years of average per attempt production and a few others where he's missed a lot of time

I heard that all that Rex Burkhead needs is to get all those touches.....He could be a workhorse as well......

Imagine thinking someone wants to pay 17M for the most expendable position that's not a ST'er.
He's worth it if you look at what other less effective guys are getting. Dude is incredible. There isn't another RB like him in the league.

$17M for a runningback who is going to be 27 in the offseason and has 1,500 touches (inc. receptions) already? Bell is fucking nuts, take your money now.

The highest average is $8M per... so you're basically getting 2 years of salary at the very top end UP FRONT, guaranteed now. The highest guaranteed is $18M not counting rookies so wtf are you really asking for?

What a moron. Really true what they say about most athletes in the NFL... these guys are dumb as fuck.
It must be an ego thing and he won't back down. I'm sure he'll take his 17 Mil and be satisfied.
