The kid went 3-8 for 21 yards . He missed on any pass over 10 yards.

"Yet Alabama couldn’t afford to be safe after its first half against the Bulldogs. The Tide trailed 13-0, with four punts in five drives, three coming after three-and-outs. Saban felt Hurts’s inability to throw was allowing Georgia to ignore any threat of the pass and zero in on stopping the Alabama rushing attack. “With the absence of a passing game and being able to make explosive plays and being able to convert on third down, I just didn’t feel we could run the ball well,” Saban said at his postgame press conference."

Are you really this stupid?

As has been stated over and over, his "inability to throw" is due to his inability to read defenses and see where the receiver is going to be open. Also combined with being scared to throw the ball often times because he didn't want to turn the ball over.

But no, I guess for you all QB problems in the passing game are a result of accuracy. Dipshit.

Not all. Just the QBs who can't hit receivers even open ones unless they are five feet in front of them. The fact that he's scared to throw it is because he knows he doesn't know where it's gonna go. Your excuse that after two years of starting, being coached under Saban, with weeks to prepare for this one Championship game he didn't have a clue about Georgias defense . So much that he couldn't complete a pass over ten yards. But the kid who hasn't started a college game in his life did. It's more like the kid can actually hit players downfield and Hurts was too scared to try. When your two years starting QB is having issues figuring out the defense in the championship game you talk to him on the sidelines and fix that or go over things at halftime you don't put in a kid who's never played unless you know your starter can't make the throws you need.

@2:15- "He (Hurts) cannot throw the ball downfield and make you pay"

Maybe you 2 can compromise and agree that Hurts is both stupid AND inaccurate? :noidea:

 you are a dipshit.

Of course "he can't make the throws", fucking DUH. The debate is why. Your dumbass said it was because he isn't an accurate thrower and you are wrong. I told you it's because he isn't able to read the defenses and see where receivers are going to be open, and often bails on the play too early instead of stepping into the pocket.

All you've done this thread is prove that you don't know shit about the QB position because you seem to think it's all about accuracy. But there is a huge difference in hitting a guy on a route when there isn't a defender there and hitting him when you also have to worry about a few defenders around and where the ball is going to go. He misses opportunities with his arm because he doesn't see the holes in the defense, and that seemed to be made worse because he tried too hard to never make mistakes. I think he probably set a record for least amount of interceptions throw by a QB in a season for Alabama.

That's the reality.

Btw, this kid clown stomped the fuck outta "#3 USC".

The guy is horrible at throwing. How many 5 star receivers does he need to be open down field to hit one of them. I find it hard to believe Saban and company do not have any plays that thier 5* receivers can run and be open have the QB drop back hit them. He's throwing to NFL players and can't hit any of them? LOL. WTF is every team throwing a defense that no one at Alabama has ever seen and can't coach a kid to beat it?

I don't know shit about the QB position? lol. I've watched Palmer, Leinart , Clausen, Sanchez, Barkley , Tate, Rosen play since they were all in High School and then gone to their games in college. Not on TV , in the stands where you can see the field and you can tell if they hit the right receiver or checked off to the right play. But at no time did I ever see these guys consistently miss receivers , constantly overthrow receivers. Kahlil Tate does need to work on his pocket passing but he's got time. So Iv'e seen QBs that can play and while he's a great athlete and has a strong arm Hurts does his team no favors because he can't put the ball were it's supposed to be. You've got 5* relievers for Christs sake, you don't need to read the defense on plays when they have step on a DB with a cannon of an arm. Look a watson when he was at Clemson. A lot of the time he's running for his life against that Alabama defense. You think he's reading it all the time ? But he can still fire off passes and hit receivers.

All by himself? The biggest factor in Alabama winning that game was superior coaching by Alabama. Saban had the extra benefit of having Kiffin and Kiffin knew the Trojans offense better than Helton did. Kiffin knew all the formations, they knew what USC was going to run before Helton did. Helton is a second rate coach at best. The guy couldn't even realize that Darnold was better at the time than Max Browne.

Bama guy also forgets Alabama was ranked #1 in the country and USC was ranked #20-23 depending on what poll. I didn't expect that bad of a showing but few thought USC was in Bamas class.

Well at least we can agree "#3" at the end of the year was bullshit.

Yes, all by himself because you are a dumbass who can't grasp that the simple fact we are talking about 1 player on a team is obvious.

Nooooooo noooooo nooooo. We aren't going there. lol.
But we can agree Darnold will make millions in the NFL and Hurts will make a fine employee at some bama boosters business.

I've been to NFL games, so fucking what.

And I doubt you've watched much of Jalen play outside a few games.

What happened to USC vs Alabama is what happens when a team gets out coached. Helton was in way over his head and still is. Helton started Max Browne because Browne had been loyal, waiting his turn at USC. Browne couldn't beat out Cody Kessler or Max Wittek. He didn't even beat out Darnold, Helton went with Browne because he had been there waiting, not because he earned the starting job. Helton's play calling is and always has been garbage. USC couldn't sustain any drives and that's been Helton's M.O. since he started calling plays at USC, lousy play calling. That will demoralize a defense especially when you face a team like Alabama.

And what was Helton thinking promoting Bryan Ellis who took over the QB coach position that was vacated by Tyson Helton and having Ellis call the pass plays vs Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl? That was a bonehead move. Yeah, Darnold threw for a lot of yards in that game vs the Buckeyes, but most of those yards came off of improvised broken plays by Darnold having to scramble. Like I said, Helton is a second rate coach at best.

Look I like Helton. He's the first grown up (TF12s words) we've had running the show since Pete left. That was his first game as the head coach. I know he stunk it up. I was there. I spent time and money to go watch that. I paid for tickets twice because my buddy (whos not in charge of the tickets for the Texas game) left the first pair in his hotel room in Dallas when we went to Arlington . Yes, Darnold should have been starting from day one. he fucked up. The play calling needs to improve I agree. I hope Tee Martin studied and talked to offensive minds all off season because this is it for him. He gets no more passes. Anyway. I'm tryng to give him at least until after this year to see where he's at. You do know he's won more every season than whats projected and he's the first coach at USC to win 10 or more in his first two seasons. That's gotta buy him a little time.
