It's more refuting the notion that the Lakers weakened the Warriors by signing McGee.

Boogie may never be the same after his achilles. But I'd take a 50% Boogie over McGee.
12 hours later and people are still trying to spin this baby back bullshit?

Lmfao....stop it.

Do we know that we've heard ANYTHING in this whole process that came directly from Kawhi?
No.

But, that includes the part where he allegedly wants to be Laker.

You didn't hear him say it.

However, some Lakers fans are quoting it as gospel.

So, what's the difference?

I very much doubt that. If the Raptors are going to wait till just before the deadline, the best they can ask for will be Josh Hart and picks.
You overestimate your position.

Other teams will outbid you even if it's for a single title run rental.

* see Dikembe to the 76ers, Drexler to the Rockets, Rasheed to the Pistons.

Shit, Gasol was traded to the Lakers in February and look how that turned out.

You are kidding yourself if you believe other teams won't be interested.

I am sure this has been talked about already on this thread, but what in the world were the Raptors thinking!?!??!? Trade away all-stars for a guy that will maybe commit to you for a year. Contractually he will be there for a year, but we saw how this dude acted in SA, he may not really be committed to you for a year.

Fire a good coach, trade away some really good players, how do you say "Trust The Process" in Canadian?

Just being selective to fit the agenda.

It actually makes sense. The Raptors weren't getting by the Celtics, and to a lesser degree, the 76ers. Now they have a chance. If Kawhi walks next offseason, they can start a rebuild with the young pieces they have and DeRozan's contract off the books. It was actually a brilliant move when you think about it.

As they were constituted before this trade, it's hard not to reach the conclusion that Toronto was at a dead end.

If he stays in Toronto for the entire year - then everything he earns while living in Toronto - becomes tax free for IRS purposes, but there is a restriction - He can only be in the United States something like 30 days of the entire year - returning to play 42 games while in the United States may disqualify his income as tax free. In the mean time Toronto is a good team -

I just meant that Texas has no state income tax.

So if the spurs paid that bonus, he got more of it than he would if it was paid in Canuckistan

Nope. That’s why I dig it.

Or, ya know, Kawhi to the Raptors

I think that's the funniest part - if he tells the team at some point that he's all in here and would sign an extension the team still has a fuck ton of assets with which to go out and grab another star if one becomes available.

Im also loving the addition of Green. The Raptors may have the best defense in the NBA next year

Yes, it was said word from his "camp" informed the league that he has no interest in playing in Toronto.

"Camp" doesn't mean direct from Kawhi. That's just agent-speak at best.

Of course, especially on a low-risk one year deal. If he becomes an issue, dump him.

Depends on whether or not his free agency position has been better defined. If it has (in the Lakers favor), they wouldn't even bother with an offer unless it dumped Deng's contract OR they felt it could put them over the top for a finals berth.

Toronto has a new head coach.

For all those that just want to crown them as EC champs.

I think their defense will be good, but i think the best defensive team has to go to the Thunder.

PG- RW
SG- Roberson
SF- George
PF- Grant
C- Adams

Boston has to be in the discussion to repeat as best defense in the NBA... the C's play at a more deliberate pace, too, which gives them an added edge here.

Don't think anyone's crowning them as East champs.

But they're a actual viable contender now for the East. I'd put Boston in there right now if Heyward and more particularly, Irving stay healthy.
