I think Michigan may win the Big 10 this season

Food for thought: last season comparison

Shea Patterson: 63.8% completion, 2259 yds, 17-9 TD/INT ratio
Michigan's entire QB group: 53.5%, 2226 yds, 9-10 TD/INT ratio

That statistic alone IMO guarantees at least a 2 win improvement from last season.

I agree. But I think they are due. The whole team is nearly all of his recruits now, and last year bought them valuable experience. Again, if Patterson wins the job and stays healthy, they have a great chance regardless of who they play.

And I have them losing to MSU because it's coming right after a home game against Wisconsin in which I think Michigan will win because of a better QB and a better defense, but they will be exhausted trying to corral Jonathan Taylor.

I think the schedule lines up nicely for a 10 win season, if nothing else is being considered.

If he can stay upright for the whole season. That offensive line was one of the worst lines in all of college football last year, and the best guy graduated. I doubt he will play all 12 regular season games.

Michigan State bring back a lot of experience from last season, around 17 total starters I believe. Not that I don't think they won't capitalize off of their development under Dantonio, but I think the division is just too good this season for them to come out on top. I do think they will beat Michigan at home, just out of pure will power and the mentality they have branded over the last 10 years of knowing they can beat Michigan on any given day. However, I don't think they catch Penn State off guard again, and I believe they lose by possibly 10+. Ohio State is just better than the Spartans, and if they show up and Urban actually devises a gameplan, the Buckeyes win by 10+.

So an overview:

1. Michigan 10-2 (8-1) *holds tiebreaker
1. Penn State 11-1 (8-1)
3. Ohio State 10-2 (7-2)*holds tiebreaker
3. Michigan State 10-2 (7-2)

It's a different perspective from most people but I don't believe it's out of the question.

As far as the playoff goes, I think Michigan would be in a similar fiasco as Auburn last season, and Penn State taking Alabama's role of last season.

I also have Notre Dame(one of Michigan's 2 losses) at 12-0 on paper, though they have 3-4 realistic chances of losing this season. They shouldn't be worse than 9-3.

I enjoy your optimism. Unfortunately, I've been beaten down as a fan over the past 15 years. When you haven't won in Columbus since the Twin Towers were standing and the last time we played there, we suffered one of the hardest to accept losses in program history, it's hard to imagine it ever happening again. So I won't be able to predict or believe it until I see it happen and the curse is lifted. Until then, I think 10 wins is an acceptable prediction.

I think Ohio State wins the Big 10. Their offense is stacked. I don't think Barrett will be missed. He was a deficiency in the passing game and Ohio State returns its top 7 pass catchers. They also have one of the best RB corps in the country.

I'd be stunned if we went 12-0. I don't feel like looking it up but I think we've only won once at USC in the last 2 decades. But that was the season we went 12-0. Wimbush is going to need to figure out how to throw the ball for us to be effective. If he has accuracy like last year I think we're an 8/9 win team.

Nope he’s a transfer so we will need another three years to get his guys in. If O’Korn doesn’t count as a Harbaugh recruit even though he stole him from Houston and Peters doesn’t count who actually was recruited by Harbaugh, why would Pattersen count?

This is very ironic, considering it was Haskins that saved the day for us against michigan last year when Barrett was shitting down his leg (as usual) against a top defense. Came in with us down a TD and led us to a 2 score win.
