They'll tag him for this coming season (2nd time) and then that's it, he'll be an UFA next off-season. If the Steelers wanted to tag him yet again, the price tag would be something absurd like $24 million, no way in hell that would ever happen

There's talk of transition tag next year.
And if he were to get franchised tagged next year it would cost us 30 million for one year.

Seattle is expected to have lots of cap space next year, so depending on how the rookie RB turns out and their new Oline? Seattle could be a potential landing spot?

I'd rather see them spend the money else where.

I didn't think it was that high. I knew they're were over but I figured around 10 mil. 45 mil equals a lot of cuts next off season.
Plus Wentz the almost MVP coming up on his contract. Yep it was nice seeing you being relevant Philly but you got to go back to obscurity AGAIN:pound:

Damn, I didn't think of adding Wentz into that mix.

They have a lot of contracts that expire after this season. Not a lot of substantial guys but none the less. Then do they try locking up guys before they come do in 20? Even Ajay(sp) who was mentioned earlier, he's costing them like nothing for his production. Replacing him with a rookie will cost about the same if not more unless it's some late round guy.

Maybe lock up Wentz soon before the QB market sky rockets again

Big decisions coming up for that FO. Just like most SB winning teams. That's what separates the really good ones from the mediocre ones.
Fans can only hope their GM and coaches make the right decisions along with a sprinkle of luck thrown in to stay competitive.

That talk is 100% bullshit, it isn't happening

Agreed, always need some luck but the biggest key for me is drafting talent.

Without a doubt that gets you cost effective talent for 4/5 years depending on which round they're selected in. It's all about balance. Inexpensive quality rookie contracts, mid level situational contract players and of course your top tier money grabbers. I think the mid level tier is what hurt Seattle the past couple years. As players went down they didn't have the quality back ups to step in. NE has been lucky to have that balance and a QB that has always taken less to help the team. It's going to suck when TB12 hangs them up.

A couple of drafts have been meh. Last years is still TBD since it takes about 3 yrs to see how it pans out and I think this years draft was good but we'll see again in three years. One thing for sure, time for these guys to step up.

If the Pats can find a QB that's 70% of what Brady did, then they'll still be competitive.

It could play out to Pittsburgh's benefit and screw Bell where it hurts......His wallet and his ego.
