My Penn State Nittany Lions are continuing on the comeback trail and their incoming recruiting class is pretty stout. Should be a good year in Happy Valley!
All-time PS running back from my high school. Always been a fan.

Sources: Kawhi, Green to Raptors for DeMar

Well I am glade this is over and we gave up nothing. Now we can get him next year without giving up assets. He aint staying in Toronto lol

There's no guarantee that the Lakers get him. If PG taught us nothing else, he should have taught us that.

Having said that, other than getting him via trade right now, this is the next best outcome for the Lakers. Had he gone to Philly or Boston, the chances of the Lakers getting him would have been significantly less.

According to NBA "sources" he has no desire to play in Toronto.

One thing to worry about though is that he apparently "has no problem playing for the Clippers".

We could end up with an epic Magic vs. The Logo fight for Kawhi next summer.

Could be, but it is better then the spurs sending him to philly or Boston. We have LBJ etc... as a selling point. What do the Clippers offer except first round losses ?????

Pretty sure no one will have to. lol

In all seriousness, I like the signing. Last season he averaged 13.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg and 1.7 apg in 22.3 mpg. He shot 50.7% from the field and 39.5% from 3.

I'll take that production anytime. He's also only 29.

Read an article about him this morning and apparently he wants to try to change his "partier/stoner" reputation. Can't decide if that's good or bad. lol

Beasley was a nice pickup....TJ12 posted his 2017 stats with the Knicks and they were pretty good for just 22mpg.

We added some G-league roster-fillers in Jeffrey Carroll and Joel Barry II.

Difference between him and most is the word reputation.
Who do people think he was partying with?
I can tell you as fact that LeBron was often hitting South Beach with Beasley when they were here.

This article has some conflicting ideas explaining the new hopes of the new Lakers. The most egregious is this notion that somehow players that are historically poor shooters (especially from the three-point line), inconsistent defenders, and general ballhogs are going to some how mesh into a free-flowing, pass-happy, defense-minded "death line-up" that is going to surprise a lot of people in the mode of the GS model.

Surrounding James with a young core while entertaining the thought that a core of veterans are going to show the way in the Dubs system for winning may be a stretch of the imagination that rivals disneyland fantasy.

This article eludes to the continual presence of the use and reference to the GS model started by Mark Jackson and accelerated by the icon Jerry West while being propagated by Luke Walton in Lakerland.

This death line-up wish may backfire into a fractured, tiered effect where the roster of vets led by LeBron James will distance themselves from a young athletic core of kids that don't have much experience especially in the post-season realm. How long does one think it will take for these two factions to fall into a civil war especially if losing becomes the modus operandi? Not very long as reality and history suggest.

There is an old proverb that states that one should beware of what one wishes for and this may be operating in a negative fashion this coming season. I hope I am whistling dixie here and this new Lakers roster does fulfill everyone's wishes but things could go horribly wrong in a hurry if winning does not become the norm.

The Lakers reportedly have their own version of the Warriors' 'Death' lineup, and it makes their offseason moves more confounding

Love the beasley signing. Wonder if Wild T likes this one??

Neutral on it. Mostly because I don't think he'll have much of an impact either way although on principle, I'm not a fan of signing so many..."eccentric" personalities like the team has done this offseason. 1 is fine. 2 is pushing it and any more and you're usually asking for a disastrous circus show every night roster chemistry wise. But back to Beasley, he's salvaged his career over the last 2 or 3 seasons after playing himself out of the league but it's not like he's overly productive either. Like with the Knicks for example, he put up some good numbers but mostly after their season went to shit after Porzingis got hurt and they basically said "Fuck it. We got nothing else. Sure Beas, do whatever". Realistically, he's got enough scoring skill to where he'll help for a game or two and then disappear for long stretches. That's basically what to expect out of him.

If that is neutral, I would really hate to see something you don't like LOL

Agree with a lot of this. I think Beasley will have more of a positive impact than you do. But I don't see him as some kind of difference maker.

I don't have any issues with their signings. It's all 1 year deals for guys who are unlikely to be here next season. If any of them start having issues, they can simply be released and that could mean the end of their careers in at least a couple of instances.

After this season, they'll look at which young guys have improved enough to stay and which ones haven't. Then they'll fill the roster accordingly, imo.
