this team makes the most sense. The have plenty of salary cap room! His addition would seal a playoff spot for this season! This move could keep the Nats out of the playoffs.Phillies
The Phillies need bullpen help and a SP moreso than a bat IMO. However they really have made it known they will give up some key prospects to get Manny. Make no mistake though, they have a terrible bullpen. Giving up leads late in games ( Miami) is unacceptable.this team makes the most sense. The have plenty of salary cap room! Really? Is the Braves BP that bad? I really have not followed the Braves much. The Phillies BP and especially of late have blown several leads. The only sure thing they have for starters are Nola and Arrieta. As soon as the game is close and heading into the later innings with a lead, the nerves hit knowing that a 1 run lead may not last. They blew a 5-0 lead yesterday to the friggin Marlins and still lost by 5.I'd trade bullpens with the Phillies right now without any hesitation.

The NL is up for anyone this season. Who is that dominant team? LA, Cubs, Brewers, Braves? Still don't see any team taking down the Astros for the WS.. Maybe the Yankees? They will trade for a SP imo and possibly a bat for 1st baseman.. That is the one weak spot in that lineup imo.Vizcaino has been pretty much the only reliever that has been reliable most every time he;s been out there, but he's on his second DL stint of the year. Others go on streaks where they're pretty good and then it falls apart again. I mean, I could live with a bullpen that allowed runs via getting hit. Our BP just can't throw strikes, and nothing frustrates me more as a baseball fan than walking a bunch of batters.
I can live with out starters. There's not really an ace, but for the most part they're all gonna go 6 and keep us in the game.

I don't know why the Braves don't make an offer. They have a plethora of top pitching prospects and they've already got several solid young pitchers at the major league level. They could use the upgrade on the left side.
We made an offer, but it was far from good enough.
I'd be fine with it other than the fact that I'd be forced to pull for one of the biggest douchebags in the Majors, but I could definitely manage.
I think you'll manage after years of watching Chipper Jones, Brian McCann and John Rocker.
Those were my douchebags though, with Chipper and Rocker being my two all time favorites.
I hated Nick Swisher and Jose Bautista when they were Braves though.
But with Manny, I'd probably love him the two months he'd be on the team, and then go back to hating him when he signed elsewhere.
Just like how Lackey and Beckett were my douchebags. Pierzynski could go fuck himself though, he was just absolutely worthless.
