What brand do you use. I’m a chemical guys guy for right now. I’m using up what I have

I like those Vo7 line and Black light soaps.
I also use thier Butter wet wax.
And Jet Seal.

Let me know what’s out there and what you use.

I wash my pickup once a year, whether it needs it or not.
But I skipped last year.

But really, is just take it thru the automatic car wash. It does a decent job.

Hope that helps

Not really, my car is one of my investments. It will never ever see a drive through car wash in its life with me. Always washed by hand.

My uncle used to repair/restore cars for a living. Would enter 3 cars at a time in shows and would take home 3 trophies. He's the one that turned me on to Meguiar's. He's a car guy, through and through....

I have used the Meguiers Gold Class soap. It works pretty good. It’s smazing in my foam cannon. It foams up very well. I have also used thier clay bar kit. Good stuff

I've either gone with Mother's or Meguire products in the past mostly. I rarely get a chance to do a full detail on my vehicles now that I've got two rugrats that want to 'help' which adds a lot of time to the already time consuming job. So I typically just vacuum the interior and wipe down with a damp cloth, use a wash and wax soap on the exterior, and tire foam at the end when I do have 30-60 minutes to do it.

With my old Cobra and the bachelor life, it would get a full detail each month (described below) with maintenance washes and quick detailer every week or sooner if needed.

- use detail brushes to sweep out dust from crevices
- remove and clean rubber floor mats
- vacuum interior
- clean windows to streak free shine
- wipe down interior with wet cloth, then cream protectants for the leather and dash/etc to an even matte finish (didn't like shiny products on the inside)

- degreaser/cleaner for engine bay
- apply engine bay shine product and idle the engine for five minutes to help it cure
- wash exterior with dawn
- clay bar to remove bugs, tar, or any other trash that makes its way into the paint
- wash again
- protectant for vinyl top being careful to only keep it on the top
- sealer/glaze
- carnuba wax
- quick detailer with microfiber to help remove any residue or uneven shine from removing the wax
- polish chrome wheels
- tire gel and wipe down so it doesn't throw it all over the side when moving
- rain-x
- back to black for exterior weather stripping/rubber/etc that may have fading or wax residue
- open doors, hood, and trunk to wipe down sills

Overall, that took a ton of time and I'd be wore out. Definitely not feasible with kids around.

A lot of people seem pretty obsessed with such stuff.

Drive them.
Use them up.
Let the next guy worry about it.

I take care of mine and will wax it at least once a season, but I don't obsess. When I had my Nova in high school, I was a little more obsessed with it, but not by much.

I washed mine on Friday, but didn't wax it. I will likely wash it again soon and put a coat of wax on it. Almost out of wash concentrate, so I need to go out and get some new stuff.

Any recommendations? It's all soap to me.

I’m pretty anal about what I use
I use a ph balanced soap so it doesn’t strip the wax and sealant. Dish soap is no good. That’s what it does, it strips all the paint protectants.
The steps are simple

Wash ( with a wax and sealant stripper)
Clay bar
Wash again.
Apply a glaze
Apply a wax
Apply a sealant.
But yes it’s a process, but I like
To protect my paint.
I usually do this twice a year because the winters here in Utah
Suck, with the way UDOT puts salt
down it tends to mess with the wax and sealant.

combine it with a bit of sand and/or gravel and it wreaks havoc on wheel wells, waxed or not.
