I don't disagree, Barrett regressed after his first year. I also never said he was great last year. Did you know there's an area between "pedestrian" and "great"? I'm assuming not based on your comments. Urban has proven the ability to bring his QBs along and have amazing success with them early on at Ohio State. Why would I think the best passer he's ever recruited wouldn't be the same?

And what's that last sentence mean?
It means homer on homer. SCARLETandGAY09

I don't remember that actually. What are you concerns?

It's my typical concern for QBs who dazzle you with highlight runs and throws after avoiding three defenders in high school games. That they are good for college teams with nothing much on offense and a few decent receivers. But at a school with an actual offense and plays, they struggle to sit back and let plays develop and run the offense . They are used to a few bad plays then running around and hitting a home run. They think that's how it works. They aren't good moving the team down the field with long drives and they just never worked on having timing on throws and letting plays develop and seeing what the defense is doing. It's starting to change I think slowly. I heard the head coach from Long Beach High school talking the other day and he's been telling his QB to not run, to throw it away or take a sack if you have to but don't run every time you feel pressure. He said we might have a worse offense but I'm doing him a disfavor if I don't teach him how to stay in the pocket and read a defense and throw some balls away when he doesn't like what he sees. When he's good at that and he wants to get away thats fine but he doesn't want it to be the first response to pressure. I thought Martell had so many play makers around him and blocking for him and his defense would get him the ball back if he didn't complete drives that he would take some time to be a good QB in college.

Right, it's not like Urban had had QBs come out of the blue at OSU at look amazing and have immediate amazing accomplishments or anything.
I'm not saying it's not possible, but to suggest it's the bare minimum of the possible scenarios is 100% homer. It's also possible he's just an average, or good, QB that is no where near the top player in the country. In fact, some would argue that's more likely.

He’s an Ohio State player so he is the second coming of Joe Montana.

Wow, maybe he needs to 2-3 years of sitting and learning then. I admittedly didn't analyze his high school stuff too much, I just knew he was an elite athlete with good arm strength and a rocket fast release. I hope to see him do something this year, but it definitely won't be start. At least not without injury.

When the hell did I say it was the bare minimum? It's possible that he is just average or good, but I find that to be highly unlikely based on how other QBs have played under Meyer and from what I've seen from Haskins thusfar. I've explained why I think he's going to be very, very good. What reasoning do you have to refute that?

And where did I say that's the only possible outcome? I've said that's what I think will happen.

Amazing how you homos fly off the deep end just because I state an opinion.

He's not going to be an NFL QB . He should have gone where he could have played from the start and had fun.

When, usually when you say "at least" that's the minimum outcome suggested. IE -- at minimum, you said he would be a Heisman contender. So you think there could be other, better, scenarios but at minimum he'll be a contender for the Heisman.

I said I think he will be one, and I've laid out my reasoning. Never once have I said this is the only possible outcome for him. Again, you guys need to just relax.

No offense to cfb fans of teams represented by players on that list, but that's going to be a weak NFL QB draft class. The underclassmen with the exception of the young man from Georgia should probably not even consider coming out after the upcoming season.
I don't think that statement is too offensive. I was making that argument in the last NFL draft season because I felt like the last season having 1 statistical juggernaut and 2 pro-typical NFL QBs on top of the 2 project QBs isn't normal.

I think this upcoming season will be more normal. There will probably be 1.5 NFL Starter level QBs and a couple of impostors.

Imo, the biggest story on the list is Josh Heupel moving from one of the QBs to the other. Its not something I want to see but I wouldn't be too shocked if it tanked both QBs NFL future.

So then you'd have no problem with me saying,

At minimum, I think Jim Harbaugh will end his career at Michigan as a better coach than Urban Meyer....

?

I mean, my statement is exponentially more likely to happen, but dude you can go nuts. It wouldn't even be the dumbest thing you've said on this board this month.

Hopefully Ryan Finley will be as good as advertised this season for my Wolfpack!

He has done well for you guys, all he did for us was throw INTs

It’s just easier to let ATF be a jackass on his own. He said he would own up if Haskings isn’t a heisman finalist so be it.

pitman, Thanks for the compliment on Finley. Maybe this guy is color blind going from the blue carpet you play on to live green grass, I don't know. Anyway, he has been very efficient as an NC State QB throwing very few interceptions and it came down to almost the last minute on whether he would stay or enter the NFL draft.

By the way, I have always had a lot of respect for the Boise State football program.

He sucked a fat one for us for sure and while I completely disagree with #3 on this list, he certainly has done a nice job for NC State. He seems like a good dude too. He’s an ex-Boise State kid and Phoenix native which is where I live now so I’m definitely pulling for him. His little brother is going into his junior year of high school and has a bunch of teams eyeing him. Tons of FBS quarterbacks coming out of Phoenix these days. It’s crazy.
