I knew things were too good to be true this season.
Mariners #3 prospect, Sam Carlson, has Tommy John surgery

That truly sucks for him, but on the bright side Tommy John surgery isn't the career ender it used to be. Hopefully he had a speedy recovery and comes back strong next year.
Article says 2020 at best. He is 19!!!! That is just amazing to me how young these guys are that get this type of surgery. I agree it isn't what it once was, but still scary.
I am watching the Nats/Red Sox game and the Nats pitcher has had it done twice.

In a way it is good. Doctors are so good at that surgery that generally that is the first option instead of whatever is going on with Ohtani. Plus side is look at how Marco has handled it, he went from a prospect who was destined for the bullpen to the 3rd possibly 2nd pitcher in a MLB rotation.
