Was okay. Though I prefer movies that better define who the good guy is and who the bad guy is. Too much grey area for me to say this was definitely a good movie.

I will say this, Christian Bale is very good in westerns. This film isn't quite as good as 3:10 To Yuma, but it's okay. I'd pay good money to see Bale play Batman in the old west. Maybe another Jonah Hex movie with a Batman cameo. I'd be down with that.

Oh jeez...I wanted to watch No Country For Old Men (again) last time I went up to the mountains, but I guess we brought the DVD home at some point (no broadcast TV, internet, phone line, nothing up there, and I don't watch movies on my phone without wifi with only 10 Gig a month for the family).
Guess it would have been The Titan on Netflix at home, unless maybe it was The Rocker with Dwight Schrute up in the mountains before that. The first had an interesting concept but no chemistry or even attempts to act amongst the cast, the latter had a few minor laughs but Rainn playing Dwight as a hard rockin dude just didn't quite work. Emma Stone and Christina Applegate looked really nice.

Amadeus: 3/5 stars. I prefer Barry Lyndon (3.5/5 stars) for my 3 hours and $3.99, but I enjoyed the movie overall.

Sicario. Decent. Nowhere near the tension as the first IMO. Wanted a little more Del Toro action but the acting across the board was great.

Last night I watched Blade Runner 2049. I have too fuckings for it. Too long and too slow. Visually it was nice. That was a weird threesome. :heh:

Saw Batman: Bad Blood.

I feel like you're jumping the shark when your Batman characters fire guns and get iron man suits. Wasted potential here but it's still about as enjoyable as a Teen Titans episode.

C+

Saw 30 minutes of Suburbicon and turned it off.

F
I rented Suburbicon and good God what a garbage movie.

What the eff was with that ending though?

For real. It felt like one those “okay, we gotta try and wrap this up somehow. (Looks to the camera and shrugs)” - endings.

The first one, was imo, one of the best action movies of the last 10 years. The second one wasn't to that level (hurts not having Villneuve/Deakins), but I was giving it a 7 or so until that ending.

Holy, 'I guess I gotta watch the third one in two years to see where this goes.'

That Sicario 2 movie.

Not as good as the first one but not bad either. Somewhat predictable.

Ending hints at a third one.

Yeah, loved the first one. It was really pretty tense all the way through. There were only 2 moments in this one where I felt the same kind of tension, and they were fairly short lived.

I will say Josh Brolin made some serious bank this summer though. Avengers, Deadpool 2, and this one. Geez.

I will admit, i had a moment of thinking 'Holy shit, Brolin is still Cable 'jacked,' in the scene with him wearing a short sleeved t-shirt.' He's not a small guy anyway in the first movie, but not THAT big.

It’s probably from bulking for Thanos in Infinity War.

Escape Plan 2 - not nearly as entertaining as the first one. Reminded me a lot of Expendables 3 2.5 out of 5
Acts of Vengeance - I was hoping that Banderas and Karl Urban would make this at least somewhat decent but they couldn't pull it off. 1.5 out of 5
A Beautiful Mind - wasn't really sure what to expect out of this movie but it wasn't what I got. I still enjoyed it enough for what it was but nothing I'd ever watch again. 3 out of 5
Chef - saw this on Netflix last week and gave it a shot. Another one that was okay but nothing worth going out of your way for. 2.5 out of 5
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - I was really looking forward to this. I think after the island is wiped out, the film just fell flat. I'd rank it 3rd out of the 5 in the series. 2.5 out of 5

Kingsmen: The Golden Circle

I really liked the first one. The second one sucked. A spin-off from The Golden Circle is in the works. The Statesmen. Meh.

I thought they should go to Japan next. Maybe a sushi restaurant as a front?
