One thing I've never totally understood is if a pitcher is dealing against you and your ace isn't on the mound, why don't you just have your pitcher drill their best hitter (JD Martinez) umps have to eject a retaliation and every team outside the Mariners doesn't allow their best player to get beaned.

And this is why I thought German wasn't that great vs us, but our hitters just kept missing strikes. His next outing:

Domingo German was rocked for six runs on nine hits in just three innings in a loss to the Rays on Sunday.

German was brilliant against the Mariners in his start on Tuesday. That would not be an accurate description of his start against Tampa Bay on Sunday. The right-hander wasn’t fooling anyone with his stuff in his three innings, and the command of his arsenal was poor. We’ll call it an off-day for German, but off-days haven’t been all that uncommon, as seen in his 5.40 ERA over 63 2/3 innings. He’ll attempt to show the stuff he displayed against Seattle in his next outing, scheduled for Saturday against the Red Sox.

I guess we will disagree on this one man, sure the hitters weren't on their A game but to me German had the perfect game. Scrub Mariners pitchers have had similar outings like Bergman, Gavilio and just insert the name. Just as M's fans we see it more when another teams guys does it against us and don't credit our lesser pitchers for having great games. I mean Leblanc looked like Kershaw against the Red Sox then looked like a HS pitcher the next time. It's just baseball, the best man or men don't always win.

Well, if there was ever a positive to take from this one...

at least we didn't blow any big leads.

The good news is the 10 game gauntlet ends 3-7 and the Angels only managed to gain 1.5 games on the end. Unless you thought the division was in play (I don’t) then it’s not that bad. Now go beat the teams who you are supposed too

Never a good feeling getting beaten down like they have on the road trip but the Orioles suck maybe they can salvage some of this trip. Just don't bring the bad vibes with you to Baltimore.

It could have been worse, but 8-5 overall, 5-5 vs the Red Sox and Yankees and 3-3 vs those 2 on the road sounds a lot better than 6-7, 3-7 and 1-5. I am super disappointed that they couldn't hold those 5 run leads.

I mean I called 3-7 over this stretch before they started it.

And now I'm calling for a pronounced movement out of it. I don't think they will go on a huge winning streak, but I expect they win the next few series if they don't have any new freak injuries. Like whatever the hell is going on with Segura. Man do they need him back. Find a way to avoid anything else major and coast the way to the all star break.
