Pre-injury, I'd take Wentz

After injury I'd take Smith:suds:

What you have to ask yourself is why Dak regressed and Wentz became very good.

It’s just the difference in arm talent that’s blatantly obvious and Dak wasn’t All Pro MVP contender... Wentz was.
Dak regressed cause he isn’t the type to lead a team... he will never be that type of QB. When he didn’t have the leagues best RB his game suffered. Dak is good but not MVP good.
Dak was asked to step up and be the lead guy but he doesn’t have the ability. Give him a line and a nice run game and he can run the offense really well but he just isn’t the type to put a team on his back and win... he doesn’t have that type of arm.

No we don't. Both QB's have had 1 really good year and 1 average year.

And when it comes to Wentz is average year he had a team with a broke down line and no receivers coming off a college career with almost ZERO reps.

Coaching is pretty high on the list, being a mediocre talent that was carried by a phenom rookie RB is right up there too.

Wentz in the top 10? Give me a fuckin' break NFL.com... I mean the guy had a great season, but let's see him do it again (his rookie one was fairly mediocre) and win a fuckin' playoff game before we crown him top 10...

He's got the #1 O-Line in the NFL to boot (for sure top 3)...

NFL players voted him top 10

When it comes to his rookie year he had almost no college experience and was thrust into the starter position with an injured and suspended OLine and the leagues worst receivers. I don’t see many doing well in that situation

Even during his up and down rookie season you could see he was special. Extremely special.

Lastly, he isn’t a top 10 player until he plays well year after year. He has a lot to overcome and a lot to fix in his game. He just played like a top 10 player last year... doesn’t mean he will be forever

And you are correct. Now flip that around to 2017 and that's what Dak had to deal with. Broken line, susp top RB and mediocre WR's at best. That's why I say lets take a look at each at the end of their first contract, so that would be 4 yrs in and have a better judgement on both. Who knows, one could distance themselves from the pack or both could be on par with each other. Only time will tell.

I agree with that but we don’t need time. Dak will never have the talent Wentz has. He doesn’t have the arm talent that Wentz has. I see progression from one QB and regression from another. It sounds like I’m ripping Dak but I’m not. He can be good in the right situation. He reminds me of McNabb in ways but he doesn’t have the ability to be an elite QB... Wentz has the potential to be the best player in the NFL... Dak doesn’t.

I thought he had good numbers his rookie year

Most QB's will regress with a broken line, top RB missing and WR's that are hurt or average. This year and next will be telling about both QB's.

I agree with that. Wentz has to overcome injury and overhaul his style of play.
Dak needs to get back to 2016 which he should.
