Matz already shitting the bed...and it's only the 2nd inning.

5-1 Rox.

Don't these guys ever prepare for these games, or conduct film study sessions on the opposition??

Their overall approach in way too many games is totally beyond appalling.

Should be a fun flight back to NY for them after this latest looming fiasco & clusterfuck.

Uh Oh...
Mets scored a run in the top of the 3rd to make it a 5-2 game.

Matz will now have to dig deep to throw a shutdown bottom half.

:dhd:

edit:

he issues a leadoff walk...pitch count ballooning.

:L

edit.2:

WOW!!.....he held them at bay.

:clap::clap::clap:

I guess the Mets forgot they were playing in Denver.
They just continue to make weak ground ball outs time and time again in so many AB's.

:L

Hitting the ball solidly in the air would/could be so much more advantageous up there...and usually is more times than not.

But hey...wtf do I know.

:gaah:

June 22nd.
Dodgers come to Queens for the weekend.

NEW YORK -- The Los Angeles Dodgers aren't currently occupying a playoff spot, but manager Dave Roberts spoke confidently Thursday about playing in the postseason. New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway, on the other hand, is beginning to sound like a skipper who knows his team will be long forgotten by October.

Two teams headed in opposite directions will square off for the first time this season Friday night when the Mets host the Dodgers in the opener of a three-game series at Citi Field.

Dodgers vs. Mets - Game Recap - June 22, 2018 - ESPN

Also....

NEW YORK -- The struggling New York Mets have made a couple of roster changes, cutting Hansel Robles and demoting fellow reliever Paul Sewald to the minors.

Right-hander Drew Smith and outfielder Kevin Kaczmarski were called up from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday before the opener of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Robles was designated for assignment, removing him from the 40-man roster. New York has seven days to trade, release or send him outright to the minors. The right-hander was 2-2 with a 5.03 ERA in 16 appearances during his fourth season with the Mets. He allowed seven home runs and walked 10 in 19 2/3 innings.

Sewald and fellow right-hander Chris Flexen were optioned to Las Vegas following Thursday's loss at Colorado. Sewald was 0-4 with a 4.85 ERA in 26 games, and Flexen had an 11.57 ERA in 2 1/3 innings.

Didn't take long to fall behind. That homer will probably be the game winner

JFC...they had a couple of chances to at least tie the game to help get Jake off the hook for another undeserved loss....and a few other chances to even take the lead.

No Dice!!!

Their overall approach in key spots is beyond horrible.

The entire lineup is just pretty much flat from leadoff all the way down thru the order.

Really tough to watch this rendition.

Sandy should just resign already.

The Wilponzi's need to sell the team.

It's Fucking Pathetic.

Welcome back, JTO (Justin Turner Overdrive)
(too bad it's with the visiting team)

Doyers Sweep Los Mets.
Final: 8-7 in 11.

Turner goes yard in the 11th off the just recalled Chris Flexen...on a pitch right down Broadway...with 2 outs.

Mets tied the game in the 8th ( on Plawecki's 3 run HR)......and also had chances to walk off in the 9th, 10th & 11th.

But again....No Dice.

:tsk:

Sell the team, Fred/Jeff.
Retire, Sandy.

:mad2:
