There was 1% of me that thought maybe it was Roquan at the moment of the trade. When Allen's name was called, I was mad for a second, but happy it wasn't Rosen.

Then to not give up #22, was great. Then using g it to move up and get a falling Edmunds was even better...especially considering Vander Esch wouldn't have made it to 22.

We might miss out on some O line talent at 53, 56 and 65, but I will take it.

Then hearing Rosen sook to Deion after being selected 10th overall in the fucking NFL draft, sealed my relief he isn't ours.

Good work by Beane and Derm.

Allen was psyched to be a Bill, can't be upset with that. We may have those old tweets to thank for that. Regardless, already working on his footwork to improve his accuracy, love the work ethic.

Harrison Phillips, highest wonderlic scorer at DT, most bench reps, former wrestler... Kyle will make a fantastic mentor. Love it.

The two corners were a surprise, but both good tacklers, one probably becomes safety behind Hyde. Like 'em.

Teller...looks like a monster, immediate starter. Love it.

Two WR to end it, both smaller size dudes. High praise route runner for McCloud. Ricky Proehl's son to finish it off. Might make a nice surprise.

Undrafteds to come...

Well done, Mr. Beane!

His passion is real. Hard to believe he was so small in High School. Hoping for efficient, consistent coaching.

Edmunds was a great pick but Allen was a miss IMO.

Well done, Mr. Beane!

As I mentioned in another post I do feel like we missed an opportunity taking McCloud instead of St. Brown in that spot. I thought St. Brown would become a really good #2 receiver. I'm not sure on the corners but they are versatile so maybe that's what we liked.

Huge fan of the Teller pick as well as Phillips.

As I think of it more, I can probably reserve judgement on the corners for now. Last year I didn't think Milano would pan out to anything and all he did was prove to be our best linebacker

I was drooling over St. Brown...must have some bad off field issues to have fallen like that. Route running a strength, 4.4 speed and 6'5... Packers might have caught a huge break if he cleans up his act.

He had off field issues? Honestly I thought he was clean

He didn't have the best production but that was because he always had bad QBs throwing to him, didn't get the best of coaching either. We are all going to wonder how the Packers managed to get this guy in the 6th round in a few years

No idea. I'm just guessing. How else does someone like that fall so far?

I think that the Bills have just had a very good draft. The Allen pick is the QB of the future that has been needed for years. He may have his issues but I trust the regime and what they are trying to build. They had Allen and Rosen to pick from and I did have Rosen rated higher as a passer but his personality could cause issues. So potential ad character won out.

The Edmunds pick was superb to get a top 10 talent at that slot is great and again fills one of the biggest needs.

Harrison Phillips i seen a lot of mocks and so called draft 'experts' had him late 1st - mid 2nd so great value and Kyle Williams replacement.

Teller should compete at least if not start straight away.

not to up to speed on the rest of the picks but seem positive moves and add depth and competition to the roster.

With the additions in free agency i think the team is very solid and should compete.

I like where the NFL is going with the kinds of QB's that have been drafted the past few seasons. Guys like Wentz Goff Bridgewater Watson Mariota have changed the way the game is played. We've seen more and more athletic mobile QB's find success at the next level. With the most recent draft class coming in (Josh Allen, Rosen, Darnold, Baker Mayfield, and Lamar Jackson) we're going to see the mobile QB become the norm for the next 10+years. I still remember when it started with some kid named Aaron Rodgers rolling to the outside on a bootleg to complete passes down-field. The past few seasons we've seen Russell Wilson do the same thing but there have been other guys who can do that pretty well too.

Josh Allen got through the bumps of the draft process, and then met a role model.

Now it’s on him to do the thing the Bills traded up in the first round for him to do.

Allen said after his first rookie minicamp in the NFL that he knows there are adjustments he’s going to have to make, but he’s confident he can handle them.

“I’m going out there and I’m going to play football how I know to play football,” he said, via the Buffalo News. “I’m still working on a lot of things. Coach [Brian] Daboll’s going to help me out. Through this whole draft process, I felt like I’ve made a lot of strides. . . . As we progress through this rookie minicamp, and through the rookie developmental period, I plan to improve every day.”

He caught the eye of some of his new teammates, impressing his fellow rookies with his command of the huddle.

“The biggest thing is you can tell how a quarterback’s going to act in the fourth quarter by the way he treats his huddle,” fifth-round guard Wyatt Teller said. “He was very respectful, but he was very stern. He complimented us if we had a good break and if we made the play right, but he had great huddle presence. If someone’s out of place or if someone’s like leaning in too far, he’s like, ‘Hey, hey, hey. Work on the huddle, fix the huddle.’

“You can kind of tell that he’s taking it serious. He’s more than an arm, obviously. He’s a smart kid, he works hard.”

He’s going to have to, as the Bills have invested a lot in him being the kind of face-of-the-franchise player they lacked.

The Bills drafted Josh Allen to be their next Jim Kelly, and the Bills will trying to get Allen ready for his new role quickly.

On Tuesday, coach Sean McDermott said Allen will get first-team reps at this week’s mandatory minicamp.

It will be the first time Allen takes snaps with the starting offense, and it’s the clearest indication yet that the Bills will give him every chance to win the starting job as of Week One.

A.J. McCarron had hoped to get a chance to play at least part of the season, and that may still happen. But he’s going to have to earn his playing time by showing he’s better than Allen. Unless Allen flops or gets injured.

If neither happen, the Bills could be in position to fill the void at the top of the AFC East whenever Tom Brady walks away.

Allen has been great so far, he's still working on things but the work he's doing to do so is impressive.

Shady's comments about Allen last week made it clear that Allen has already won over the locker room

I've read stories about how in practice if a defender makes a play on the ball he actually talks to that defender after the play to see what allowed him to make the play so he can work on it
