makes sense. If he is more than 2 more years or so there it probably means they are back to winning 4-5 games a year.

That's an excellent buy-out for him.

Notice it decreases each year. Iowa State is afraid of losing him
and that contract is more to prevent him from bolting, rather than
him demanding some large buy-out.

A good/great coach wouldn't want to be saddled with a high buy-out,
not if they're worth a damn. That prevents the coach from getting
a better gig somewhere else.

He has confidence in his coaching ability. Plus, if he's wrong
he's protected for a few years.

If I had to hire a coach who wanted a 5-year contract, guaranteed,
I'd tell him "Thanks, but no-thanks."

7 mill if it’s this year and it reduces one mill each year after that.

I'm a dumbass, thanks.

So $4 million maybe?

In all seriousness I only ask because I read somewhere that his previous contract had an out clause for OSU.

Cute stadium. First time I've seen it almost full.

Don't they normally fill that stadium for games? If not...why?
What the fook else is there to do in Ames on a Saturday afternoon that would keep folks from coming to the games?

Seriously, what the hell else is there to do in Ames? Hell, they probably don't even have dying kids to wave at.

ISU was 28th nationally in attendance last year. They draw more fans than Oregon, AZ & AZ St, UCLA and CU, Okie St & K-state, Mizzou and Minny just to name a few.
