Imagine if Kawhi's name were Russell Westbrook right about now...

We were talking about why it was such a big deal news wise. I am making no comment on whether he was or was not legitimately injured.

Not sure what your 2nd sentence is arguing. Paul George was shitty for saying that he would only go to OKC. Carmelo Anthony was shitty when he said he would only go to the Knicks. Kawhi Leonard is being shitty by saying he will only go to LA. I don't think that is proper, and I tend to side with players on these sorts of issues.

In Leonard's defense, he owes the spurs nothing.

He has been the consummate professional his entire career. He and the team had a disagreement about the severity of his injury and the team chose to air their grievances publically.

That is total BS.

The Spurs screwed Kawhi first. He is merely screwing them back.

I'm just mad I can't go to the dispensary, as NY has only legalized medicinal extract. Jealous.

Dude, it's amazing. With it being legalized here, prices have dropped and there is so much quality out there because of the competition. You can't get bad weed anymore.

Maybe I'll take a trip to Canada this weekend. Can't risk bringing it back across though...

I don't even see it as Kawhi screwing them. He's just looking out for his best interests now. Spurs indicated early on that they didn't care for his best interests, with all the examples you said before.

The major difference is WEstbrook

I think it'll flatten out at some point, its just that there's so much influx of new growers, they're pricing to get their brands to market. I think eventually you'll see a few major players take over and buy up local growers to add to their product lines. Right now everyone is trying to remain independent.

I was living in Colorado when it became legal, It was a glorious time. I unfortunately am not one who maintains a career focus while using it, so I gave it all up on account of money.

Same. I quit pretty much midway through college because you saw a significant dip in my grades. You could see the tangible effect of my laziness from the weed.

And then it was all forgotten.

Ohh no it wasn’t lol. Everyone, at least Cavs fans, just know karma hit him. Then. I realized it peobably was for the best, kid won’t be on the court more than 2 years if he is lucky. I mean I just don’t know how he can play his game without his knees not having more issues

The trick is only smoke at night before bed, or when out at an event. People drink after work and at parties, what's the difference?

For me alcohol gives a nice buzz and then that is it. With weed my mood would swing negative for days. Now it is true that I have never tried occasional usage, it was heavy usage and then complete stop.

I am no psychologist, so it could be any number of things that changed around the same time I quit, I just know I function better now that I have stopped.

Same with the heavy to no usage. I didn't use it casually at all. It was go hard or go home every day.

I didn't experience the negative mood swings, I just had ridiculous bouts of laziness. Also compounding that was the fact that I would stay out extremely late, it gave me no time to actually study and left me tired all day.

he can DEFINITELY have a say in his own career and life--- when he is a free agent.

instead he babied an injury for months, and then is whining when he has a year left on his deal--- reportedly made it hard to get a meeting since apparently he does not have the balls to say what he wants to say (or what people are whispering in his ear) to Popovich face to face as a man until Popovich travled to him.

He had a say in 2014 when he signed a contract to make close to $100M. He CHOSE to sign it for the cash.

It actually does suck to see people not want to honor contracts.

Contracts work both ways. The Spurs didn't do Kawhi any favors with their doctors and then shitting on him publicly about him not coming back when he didn't trust the doctors after the injury. It's not like he's doing this out of the blue. Contracts may be a physical agreement, but the relationship that they represent are fluid. Circumstances change making it where either side feels like its no longer tenable. But no one ever shits on the owners when they decide the player isn't living up to it. They only bitch about the player. That's wrong and misguided based on fan ignorance. Whether its Kawhi or any other player, its a business relationship. There is no romanticized loyalty that fans dream up. Players and teams are well within their rights to use whatever leverage they have to their benefit. More fans need to understand this instead of bitching about loyalty or whatever other misplaced feelings they have. They don't owe you shit. Watch the game, enjoy the game, but people need to mind their own business if they think a player is a scumbag in situations like this. You aren't a scumbag if you look for a raise or a job elsewhere, players aren't any different.

Probably. Although KD is probably thinking the same thing.

That will too.

Just takes longer for a move like that.

Nobody talks about Moses Malone's move to the 6ers anymore, except providing precedent for what KD did.

I'm an evenings and weekend type, winding down and relaxing. It's all about quantity and strain, indica vs sativa, etc. It's been a few years since I've smoked (lost my source, and didn't want to chance a new one), but with Canada going legal this week (90 minute drive) and it being part of the NY gubernatorial race this year, hope is we'll be legalized before we're surrounded by legalized states lol. NY has been so backward on this, very strange.

Went to a collective yesterday that I hadn't been to before. When I try a collective for the first time, I always get their cheapest weed. I figure if that's good, the rest of the menu will be that much better.

Got some stuff for $5 a gram. It's pretty good. Think I'll be going there again and their good stuff.
