How many of those players are free agents when they have all of that cap space?

Good point. I thought Russell and a few others were on their cheapo first contracts.

Jimmy Butler is about winning. I honestly am not sure what Kyrie is about.

But, the Kyrie to NY rumors are way overblown, IMO. He never said he wouldn't resign in Boston. What he said was that he wouldn't sign an extension this summer because it does not make sense for him to do so financially.

We will see.

If these 2 sign in Brooklyn I will admit I was wrong. But like I said, it ain't happening.

Butler could also see teaming up with Irving as chance to get to the Finals as the easiest way since the WC is so tough. Granted, Irving and Butler isn't enough but it's a good start. That's a pretty solid duo.

And they'd then recruit vets that want to try and win.

Not to mention they have a pretty solid coach IMO but he hasn't had the talent to really showcase it. But, I like him a lot.

Maybe. He has stats. At one time, I would have said he was a lock. But I think he's hurt his own chances over the last few years.

He probably still gets in. But it's not the sure thing it used to be, imo.

The Warriors came pretty close to acquiring Howard years ago and I am glad that never happened. He is a talented center but seems to be a locker room cancer. There is something off when a center with this kind of talent is continually being traded.

It's easy to fall in love with his talent. He is amazingly talented.

Because of his talent, teams have always been willing to take a chance by convincing themselves that they will be the ones who get through to him.

Then teams find out that he doesn't want to work for anything and they can't wait to get rid of him.

You may have missed it, I'll ask it again.

So, it's your opinion that men that have 8-plus kids with 8 different women are really nice people?
Those 8 women must think he's nice.

"Nice" isn't the adjective I think you are talking about.

And you know this how again?

I just laid it out clearly. My opinion.

You and a couple others were hyping then Nets moves last summer too. I see a bad team getting gradually better moving closer to NBA pergatory. That changes if they sign Butler and Kyrie next summer. But if I am right they will sign something more like:

Kemba and Russell

And continue to be horrendously mediocre.

Maybe I was but I also didn't see Jeremy Lin getting hurt for the year. That's a 30+ win without Lin being out for the year.

Also not sure why they'll sign Kemba or any other PG if they plan on resigning Russell. That would just be dumb

Dwight Howard requesting buyout from Nets, meaning he wants to join a contender.

Warriors? Rockets? Wherever LeBron ends up?

Think the Wizards are probably the best fit for him. It would give him easy access to starting and provide a big upgrade for the Wizards at the position. Wizards aren't a team that usually elect to go small either which would give Howard a larger role.

My final comment on the the nets summer of 2019?

Is it a slam dunk that they acquire 2 top 25 players next summer ? No but it is pretty crazy IMO to act like it isn't possible considering their cap situation
Clippers, Lakers, Nets could have significant cap space next summer.

I don't see the Clippers having more appeal than Brooklyn.

Both are little brother franchises in big cities that have been mired in dysfunction.

I don't think it's farfetched to think either could land a duo that wants to play together when other options are practically nonexistent.
