Remember the Indians from Major League? How they were at the start of their season is how I see this team playing all season.

In reality, I think we sit at about 68 wins at the end of the season.

That’s almost as bad as 2014 right?

Right now I am leaning toward us winning about 77 or 78 games.

I really hope Rua gets the chance to play every day in LF, but I don't see Banister doing that.

And therefore you'd see Gallo in the minors

Not necessarily. It is hard to tell how things would have shaken out. Gallo could still be at 1B or at 3B. Or he could have played himself back into the minors.

off-season: BigSexy and Gallardo are gone. Beltre looks and sounds like retirement is coming at the end of the season. Elvis probably opts out. leaving 2 open starter positions and needs at 3B and SS. see Minor, Hutchinson and Mendez as strong probable 3, 4 & 5's with Perez as a weak probable #2 in my book (I think we should pass on re-signing him). Profar stays at 3rd but we either move up someone early or sign someone with IKF as the Super-Utility. what would you do?

after further review: I believe Beltre does retire, Andrus opts out We are forced to hold onto Choo. We make no moves during the off-season other than passing on Fister's and Moore's options. so we go into 2019 with a starting rotation of Moore, Jurado, Perez(don't want him but), ABD, Mendez and Hutchinson. a bullpen of Barnett, Bush, Butler, Claudio, Gearrin, Leclerc and Springs. Position players Calhoun OF, Shin-Soo Choo DH, Joey Gallo LF, Ronald Guzman 1B, Scott Heineman CF, Andy Ibanez 2B/3B, Isaiah Kiner-Falafa 2B.SS, 3B & C, Nomar Mazara RF, Carlos Perez C, Jurickson Profar 3B/SS, Rougned Odor 2B Jose Trevino. figure we go around 68-72 wins and 90-94 losses

Here is a list of 16 of our starting pitching prospects that I think comprise our best. I am not including Matuella or Chi Chi. Of these 16 I believe close to half will become starters in the big leagues.

1. Crouse
2. Winn
3. Ragans
4. Palumbo

5. Hernandez
6. Alexy
7. Phillips
8. Hearn

9. Yerry Rodriguez
10. Richelson Pena
11. Cody
12. White

13. Englert
14. Reid Anderson
15. Jurado
16. Mendez

Of those top 8 I feel we should have 3 of our top 4 rotation spots for the future filled. Of the next 8 I think could easily fill out the bottom 3 spots in a very good rotation if you add in those from the first 8 who don't make it in the top couple of spots in that kind of a rotation.

That doesn't even include guys who we just traded for except Hearn. It also doesn't include guys who we should find in the draft next year when we draft fairly high. It also doesn't include guys pitching now on our Dominican teams and many of those who were just drafted. Even if 8 of the guys in that list of 16 don't make it some of the ones I referred to in this paragraph could replace at least some of them.

There is a lot of room here for injury claiming some of these guys and for some to just fall apart pitching-wise and still have several quality starters left over.

Not sure I understand rankings. I like to predict long term success.

Interesting how you ranked the CFs

Thompson and JPM have both showed more in my estimation than Leody so far. I expect JPM to have the better career at this point based on what I have read about them and their production so far.

At this point Leody has underwhelmed me, but I keep him in my top 10 because of potential

After further review I see the Rangers offering Gallardo, Pomeranz, Liriano, M. Gonzalez, Tillman and J. Garcia one year deals hoping sign at least 4 or 5 of them to fill the 2019 starting rotation

Eliminate SO's and put the ball in play and BA should improve.

When you have 12 out of 20 position players hitting below .240 and 7 of them below .200 it is not a matter putting the ball in play it is a matter of putting better position players on the field and on the bench. Last night against one of the better pitchers in the AL we sent Alberto, Rua and Deshields out there. Combined they hitting around .190, thrown in Chirinos & Gallo and 5 of the 9 position/DH players were hitting together maybe .200. Boy that will put fear in a opposing pitcher
