Bart will play for one of the Arizona teams starting on Tuesday, but the Giants expect to promote him to SK sooner rather than later.

I'm definitely going to head up to Salem and catch a game, hopefully with Santos on the mound, or Hjelle

Joey Bart is in SF. He'll go to Arizona for a couple of games, then head up to Salem-Keizer ASAP

The Giants also signed at least two NDFA's - Mack Meyer, from Virginia, assigned to Salem-Keizer and Jordan Scott, from Southeastern, assigned to AZL Black.

Keaton Winn straight to Salem is interesting to me, makes me think he is a primarily a reliever.

Bart is going to AZL for a short time then Salem

It was interesting to see who was going to Salem, the 5th, 8th, 10th and 15th round guys, and all pitchers.

I know that Bart is supposed to start in the AZL first, but I don't know which as he isn't listed on either roster yet. I would guess Orange, though, as they only have two catchers, while Black already has three.

Yeah I could see that.

I wonder if Bart makes it to Augusta this year. Salem has four catchers, including a legitimate prospect in Ricardo Genoves. They probably split time, it could be counter-productive to send Genoves down to the AZL, but I wonder if they (basically) start Bart in Salem, with the idea that he pushes himself to Augusta.

It would go completely against their history with college players, but it'll be interesting to watch.

I think it really depends, too, on how high they are on Calabrese versus Genoves. I would think whichever isn't more highly regarded gives up playing time to Bart.

I think Genoves for sure, at least from what I've gathered

Giants' 17th rounder. I will say I'm somewhat surprised. He's banking on being a late bloomer I guess as next year he'll be a college senior

That was a troll post, for real. Who does it like that?
Realistically, why would he sign? If he thinks he is any good himself, she sees an org that has a shit-ton of high-to-mid level OF prospects and a history of not developing OFers properly. And the org didn’t draft him until the 16th (or whatever) round, so they weren’t going to go overboard to get him anyway. They may have actually offered the absolute min just to prevent getting penalized anyway, essentially telling him they don’t want him, and his post I said saving face saying it was his choice.

End of the day, who cares. None of us will remember this guy in 6 months.
