One thing lost in the game winning hit by Trevino was how well IKF read what was going on and was able to score the winning run. Many players with 1 out would have waited to see if it was going to drop and would make it to just 3rd. Shows he has natural baseball instincts.
He has shown me a lot for a rookie

I want Odor to get better and be the best he can be for the Rangers and same for Profar. You have made Odor a personal problem and that will not benefit the Rangers or anyone else. You should want him and all the others to be the best they can be. Moving on as you have become a lost cause concerning Odor.

It’s not right.

Profar has already been screwed once and I let it go.

It looks like he’s going to get screwed again. We are literally showing an inferior player favoritism. Is this not the highest level?

They’re managing things like they’re a minor league team and it’s frustrating.

Agree. I want Odor of 2016 to show back up.
Haha. I want the Josh Hamilton of 2011 to show back up. While we are at it bring back the Derek Holland of 2011 too.

Not true in a rebuild year. In contention, yes. Quit worrying about Odor. Let the process work.

Go outside and make this point to your dog. You'll get further and without the frustration.

If nothing else, manger Jeff Banister said that he can envision Profar playing five games a week at second, shortstop and third base, and the Rangers can know now that they don't need to go get shortstop if Elvis Andrus opts out of his contract and doesn't re-sign.

They also have a second baseman if Odor can't figure things out.

Precisely what I was suggesting.

I want Profar over Odor right now as well. But why wouldn't I want Odor to do what he did before. He is not the age of Hamilton. I am not just going to hate because of my preference for Odor. I felt the same way with Moreland when some were down on him.

Him and JD agree.

That is a terrible way to make decisions and a bad sign about future decision making within the organization. To me I think what this tells us about their decision making skills is the worst part of this whole scenario.

Doubt you and Jeff Wilson have cornered the market on JD thought patterns. Might be good to put the stones down and see what happens first.

Likely no one is sent down immediately but IMO everyone's playing time will be tweaked including Odors. Bet IKF sits today against all this RHP. I hope he is sent down to catch some

By the way. You missed the post before that where I stated Odor needs to be sent down to AAA. I really think that needs to happen.

It is ludicrous as a Ranger fan to root against one of your own players. Should we just waive Odor at this point?

If this was a playoff year, his playing time would be diminished.

People think it’s crazy but I don’t care.

It’s for his own good. From what I’ve seen of him up here the last 2 years, he’s not going to straighten himself out at the big league level, against major league pitching.

It’s like a house with a shitty foundation, theres no easy fix.

Another way this decision is baffling to me.

Profar is ranked as the 89th best position player in fantasy baseball right now.

Odor is ranked 514th

I really don't care if Odor is sent down or not. Same with Gallo. What's important is all our players getting consistent playing time

Wanting Odor to fail is an idiot take for a Ranger fan. Sorry

No logiic in all of this Do we waive him in this year of development?

If the choice is Profar everyday or Odor everyday, its Profar everyday

If the choice is Profar at 2B full time or serving a UTIL role, then its 2B and comfort in playing one position

If its Odor being on the bench or in AAA, then its AAA, he has PLENTY to work on that could be done at AAA...

its not going to be batting average or HRs that should be looked for, is it an appreciable difference in his approach at the plate, especially with 2 strikes (same could be said for Gallo), its gotten better in recent weeks, but at the cost of his power, which made him a unique but still seriously flawed player, the time when he can put together complete ABs AND hit for power is when he can have his job back (I'd settle for complete ABs and 10-15 HRs honestly) and improved defense (also a skill that can be worked on at AAA)

I whole heartedly agree that this is a development year but at this rate you also have to play the best player when there is an accumulation of talent at one spot and as I stated before Odor has flawed skills that can be worked on at AAA

Amazing at all the talk about Odor and very little about Gallo who is shameful at the plate.

because Gallo isn't really on the verge of keeping a superior player off the field

But they should also consider having him spend some time in AAA working on a lot of the same things Odor needs to work on, going the other way when its called for and his 2 strike approach

Gallo doesn’t have a big contract and there’s no log jam at his position.

Expectations are lower.
