My argument is when you have 4/5 guys at the Mendodza line there are more problems than one and no one seems to address it.
That should not bode well for the hitting coach.

I was mainly talking about playing better offensively.
My point exactly. More needed other than Odor but he keeps getting blasted while others get a pass ain't that right Crawler.

He has impressed me a lot this year and after reading the article I can see why. I can't wait for him to move up to AA and see what kind of success he has at that level.

Profar and IKF are likely to be starters. Robbie is an issue and so are subs like Rua. Odor could easily be out of a job. Choo and Beltre may be gone. A lot could happen. Willie Rake in mix too

Talking about on this board primarily Crawler. Bashing Odor wanting him to K etc but few ever bash Gallo for instance. Nobody is happy with Odor but I'm not happy with any of our Mendoza bros. They all need to step up.

I don’t have some hardcore hatred or fixation on Odor. Here let me break it down for you.

Mendoza bros :

Gallo - his game is almost entirely the long ball. Last year what made him really good was he mixed in walks so that he would have a higher off base percentage to offset the lower average. He’s taken a step back this year, but the guy is definitely still in the “ proving himself category”.

Guzman- kid is a rookie. He gets the benefit of the doubt. He’s still “ adjusting” to the big leagues, but he’s showing signs of figuring it out. He has 3 home runs in his last few games.

Rua- he’s playing terrible. The difference between Rua and odor is expectations. We all expect more from Odor based on his contract and he used to be a pretty decent player 2 or 3 years ago. Odor has done it before. Rua hasn’t. I think Rua is running out of time and he will be optioned to triple A in the next month or two if he keeps doing nothing with the bat. I have some certainty or belief that he will be dealt with if this continues much longer.

Chirinos- yes. He stinks this year. He has a little more slack then odor tho. I seem to recall chirinos having a decent season the last few years, not anything spectacular, but decent. I also tend to give catchers the benefit of the doubt because their job is harder. With that said, I hope they are working on or considering “IKF to catcher” if necessary.

Odor- our front office extended him way too early. They got cute and it looks like it’s going to come back to bite them. Odor has played terrible ever since he received that pony ( or new contract). His terrible play his persisted longer than the others and it has been way more noticeable then the other players because it has played out over the course of 2 seasons and one spring training. We have much more evidence. We have higher expectations. We have seen him do well before.

We have roughly 200 games of evidence. We have watched Banny time after time automatically insert him into the lineup regardless of how well he’s playing. We have seen no signs of improvement. His average just keeps getting lower. His power numbers are dwindling. Pitchers have adjusted to him and he hasn’t shown any ability to counter their adjustments. I’m just not seeing a big league player right now.

Odor with probably his first multi hit game in a year. Should help out his average a ton.
