More pitching indeed.
well if we were to trade the 3 players mentioned I would want 5 or 6 pitching prospects in return. I would even think it would be worth throwing in 10-15M to increase the value of the prospects we receive

From NY Post - cracked up at using the word "morbid".
There were other reasons for a dreadful 12-10 loss to the Rangers in front of 31,304, but none that cut as deep as losing two leads to a morbid bunch like the Rangers.

Friday night I will be attending my first Rangers game of the year. I think this might be the latest in the season I have ever went before attending my first game of the year since I started going to Rangers games back in 1974.

I moved to DFW in 1980. And this year my first game will be on 15 June. The latest I've ever seen a game when I've been in country.....So I can identify with ya.....But if you had to pick a year to do so, this ain't such a bad one now is it? ha ha

Now that I'm outta state, maybe this doesn't count. :noidea:

Beltre's durability is past its expiration date, and he's pulling in a pricey $18 million salary. But he's still a quality two-way third baseman when he's healthy. To wit, he has a .797 OPS and two defensive runs saved in 29 games this season.

The 39-year-old is basically a bette3r version of what Carlos Beltran was on the 2016 trade market. As such, the Rangers should be able to do better than three marginal prospects if they trade him.

When healthy? As in, 'he ain't gonna be.' I'm sorry, but I couldn't disagree more with this comparision.

Tell ya what, if we get 3 'marginal' prospects for him, I'll be at the Rockies game on the 15th.....Beers on me, and I don't BS on such serious matters as such. HA

I blame the analogy. Bad journalism
Haha! Yeah, using the word morbid in a story about a baseball game. How does that fit? Hey, it's NY. Maybe he is depressed.

Desperate teams do desperate things when it comes to a pennant race. Let's just hope everything falls into place for us and we come out smelling like a rose.

I understand the reasoning to sit Profar but not Guzman. He hit a HR in 3 straight games including hitting a HR off of Sabathia who is LH. So we play guys who are LH in Odor and Gallo instead. Sorry. Guzman should be playing.

The Texas Rangers start a four game series at home against the Royals tonight, and with lefthander Danny Duffy on the mound, Jeff Banister is giving Ronald Guzman the day off, as well as Jurickson Profar. This is basically the first day off Profar has had when he has been healthy since April 7 — since returning to the lineup on April 20 after missing a couple of games after a nasty collision at second base, Profar has played every inning of every game, and with the Rangers in the middle of a 20 games in 20 days stretch, getting Profar a day off makes sense, though I’m sure people will still complain.

The lineup:
DeShields — CF
Choo — DH
Kiner-Falefa — 3B
Mazara -- RF
Rua -- 1B
Gallo — LF
Chirinos -- C
Odor — 2B
Alberto — SS

Austin Bibens-Dirkx gets the start for Texas.

Ok....let’s sit Profar after he just had a game winning hit and got on base 3 times.

I think it’s political. Banny doesn’t want Profar to get too much momentum ahead of Odor. I hope we see odor strikeout several times tonight.

Alberto and Rua shouldn't be playing unless someone gets hurt.

Better to hope Odor does well and gets traded. The writing is on the wall
Look where Profar bars in the lineup compared to Odor.
Unless he makes huge strides before Elvis then he will go down. He has an option and Profar does not.

5-9 looks awful. Could be 15 or more K's. Hope I'm wrong.

Don't see Odor doing well enough to get traded.

Exactly my thoughts. Nobody else wants odor. We need to see him hit rock bottom, go to the minors, and start from square one to try and fix himself.

Nobody wanted Profar last year either . Players change and improve.

Best to root for all players and for the best players start based on merit. Banny said this will happen. So let's wait and see
