if Blake was generally healthy i would not have him on the list---- but an avg. of 35M a year AND the fact that he gets hurt quite a bit.....thats rough.
Oh, I agree.

The years and the dollar amount vs. The risk of constant injury is just absurd.

But, if you factor in production, Noah and Deng are worse.

Deng played what?

1 game before being banished?

Noah a handful and then he hit the roids?

Want to know a bad contract?

How about the one for a guy who scores ONE point in a near crucial playoff game but still gets paid $16m a year.

Would you like a hint to who that is?

1 Luol Deng - NEarly $20 million a year to keep a seat warm for a non-playoff team is just atrocious

It's even worse than that. Dude is being paid nearly $20 million to stay home.

Shit, how can I get a gig like that?

Thanks Short Buss. :thumb:

These are, in my opinion- the worst contracts in basketball---- some because the player is useless (Deng, Mozgov), some because they are wildly overpayed for being a mediocre player (Tyler Johnson) or some for the sheer huge number of their deal- like 4 years 142 for blake griffen

1. Blake Griffen- 4 years 142M
2. Luol Deng- 2 years 39M
3. Chandker Parsons- 2 years 50M
4. Joakim Noah- 2 years 39M
5. Hassan Whiteside- 2 years 52M
6. Gorgeiu Dieng- 3 years 49M
7. Danilo Gallianari- 3 years 65M
8. Mike Conley- 3 years 97M
9. Tyler Johnson- 2 years 38M
10. Serge Ibaka- 2 years 45M
11. Evan Turner- 2 years 37M
12. Ryan Anderson- 2 years 41M
13. Paul Milsap- 2 years 60M
14. Tim Hardaway Jr.- 3 years 57M
15. Timo Mozgov- 2 years 33M
16. Ian MAhimi- 2 years 32M
17. Carmelo Anthony- 1 year 28M
18. Nik Batum- 3 years 77M
19. Tony Snell- 3 years 33M
20. Omer Asik- 2 years 23M
21. Meyers Leonard- 2 years 22M
22. Bismack Biyombo- 2 years 34M
23. Kent Bazemore- 2 years 37M
24. Tristan Thompson- 2 years 36M
25. Andre Iguadala- 2 years 33M

Honorable Mentions and sheer HUGE contracts:

John Wall 4 years 142M
Jrue Holiday 4 years 105M
Gordon Hayward 3 years 97M
Otto Porter Jr. 3 years 82M
Steven Adams 3 years 76M
Jeff Teague 2 years 38M
Alan Crabbe 2 years 39M
George Hill 2 years 37M

Iguodala defintely should not be on this list either.

He is a key reserve on a championship team. His $ isn't taking away cap space because they are already over. It is simply $ spent on an essential cog. Houston proved how essential in Tuesday.

For the same reason, I don't think TT's contract is that terrible. The Cavs overpaid him, but it isn't like they could have spent that money on another player.

Thank you Cavs for taking that George Hill contract, he really has fallen off this season and not just because of the Kings.

The Cavs just did not have the time to integrate Hood and Clarkson like they wanted to.

When the playoffs rolled around they went with the established guys that had been there in Korver and JR instead of the younger more athletic guys.

If LeBron stays I fully expect Clarkson, Hood if he is back, and Nance Jr. all to make much bigger impacts next year.

Yeah, Clarkson's deal looks worse right now than it is likely to next year when he knows the system, his teammates, etc.

Don't you mean when LeBron and Love are gone and he gets to play a lot?

As a Thunder fan I think Kyle Singler should be on any list of bad contracts even though his isn't nearly as much money.

Difference is, Jeanie realised what was going wrong and fired the two guys responsible for, amongst other things, those bad contracts.

Other owners who have handed out bad deals (Cavs) and crippled the chances of them improving in the next couple of years are praised by a certain moron...

Go figure.

To be fair to said moron, he kind of had to. Those moves had to be made to maintain their contending status.

They are biting them in the ass a little now and will be for the next couple of years.

But it's also fair to say that, without them, they wouldn't have made all of those finals or have a title.

I can’t believe Wesley Mathews isn’t on this list.

Go back to the deandre Jordan negotiations, Mark Cuban and company met with Wesley Mathews and he was probably going to get 3 years 30 million. Mark Cuban wanted to “ reward” him for committing so early, thinking it helped give them momentum in the Jordan chase. Cuban promised that after they give deandre Jordan a max deal, Matthews would get “ what’s left over”.

Jordan re-negged on the deal and Cuban stubbornly gave Matthews a max deal. A guy who just ruptured his Achilles the season before.

Nance Jr. really impresses me at times. He is such a hard worker, he is agile but also big enough to guard multiple positions....

Honest to God i thought Hood was going to be a great acquisition when it happened but the combination of him being SO passive, some injuries he had, and the shortened time frame really hurt him and his confidence.

The CAvs really could use Clarkson and some instant offense right now.

I thought Hood would be better also.

I'm a Nance fan, as he brings that lunchbox mentality. He's always going to work hard, but for some reason he shows NO confidence in his offensive game. If someone can get him to buy in offensively, he could really become a key rotational player if not a starter.

I would love a reporter to just once ask LeBron why guys that come from other organizations that were pretty solid sometimes totally flop playing with LeBron and see what he would say.

Griffin's contract is up there in the league but I don't think it's the worst in the sport. He's a solid player. Looking at that list I'd say Deng.

Deng's is definitely up there, but is made even worse by the decision between Deng and the Lakers to just not play him. He still has value, but is seen as basically being out of the league as the Lakers move forward with the kids.
