Pederson was the reason in getting Foles to come back to Philly. And Wentz was part of his first draft as coach.
Good point on Foles, but who else is he going to reach back and grab when Foles leaves? Chase Daniel?

I don't know. But I'll have faith in whoever he gets. And this is assuming the worst case scenario happens with Wentz.

I said it at the start of the off season and I'll say it again, " Unless they got a butt load of picks Nick wasn't going anywhere" .....

they may have given Foles the option since he won them a SB .... also, the organization may be still gauging how healthy Wentz will be at the start of the season

True, but 2013 is still his only good year as a pro. He didn't do anything in 2012 or 2014 in Philly, either. He's a perfect backup QB but his ability to start a whole year is still a big question mark. Not the type of player you give up a high 2nd for.

2012: rookie and back-up to Vick.

2013: got onto the field as Vick went out with concussion, had a star season.

2014: IIRC suffered from concussion issues. Also, Chip Kelly's system on offens pretty much had been figured out.

Again, put him in the right offense, and he can be very good.

Seems that Eagles / Foles made the right decision, but this could undermine Foles’ value going forward. On the Eagles, Foles was surrounded by talent, a good coach, and a fired up team. Going to the Browns he was looking at starting from the cellar and actually leading the team. Time will tell if was a good decision or not.

Man Eagle fans... if we can get a 1st from someone for next year we could (with compensatory picks) have two 1sts, two seconds, two thirds and 2 fourths.

That's the point. I'm not giving up a high 2nd round pick for a QB that has to be put in just the right offense to succeed. Elite QBs are ones that can go to a team and win without the team having to overhaul everything.

"Hope the offense is really good and well coached" isn't much of a strategy to me. If it were truly just a scheme change then whatever, but I really doubt that's the case with Foles.

So much wrong with this post. They weren't trying to screw dallas. They thought dallas might draft a player the eagles wanted so they moved up in front of them to get him. It had nothing to do with getting the best of Dallas. Rather it had to do with the fact they wanted a good tight end (many thought the best te in the draft) and Dallas badly needed a te. And the idea that dallas had zero plans of drafting a te is laughable. I know they try to spin it after the fact but nobody outside the cowboys draft room has any idea what they actually were hoping for. Of course they are going to say they got the guy they wanted.
so much wrong with your post

1. I didn't say Dallas wasn't going to draft a TE...I said they weren't at that spot
2. Philly traded up for a 3rd TE which is laughable
3. Dallas's draft room was bouncing off the walls when they had their man, the Texas Tackle to play guard after philly took the TE.

spin it anyway you want champ, but philly screwed themselves unless they are planning a while lotta 3 TE sets.
It remains comical they moved up for a guy who will hardly see the field other than special teams

Isn't Foles a FA after the season?

Yep, and I'm pretty sure him being a BU wont bring them any comp picks.
Foles and Chase Daniel got the Chiefs a comp pick so it's not necessarily a backup. It's really just how big the contract is for the most part and if you don't have an offsetting contract. It's relatively safe to think a team will overpay Foles well beyond what maybe he ought to be paid.

He needs to play a certain amount to get comp picks
That's what's stated, but it doesn't seem to really work that way in practice. Brandon Albert hardly played his first year in Miami iirc and the Chiefs still got a 3rd round pick out of it.

Such a terrible post. You, me, everyone... even Handicappers all know Wentz is phenomenal whether we’re man enough to admit it or not. If he was a Cowboy they’d be #1 favorite to win the SB this year.

You're so stupid. If Wentz is phenomenal, then Prescott is too. Both have identical stats except Dak has a better QBR.

Wentz isn't even healthy and you claimed he was a "lock" to win the MVP. surprise surprise...he didn't win it.

Well I guess I'm mistaken then. I thought playing time was a key part in comp pick awards. I guess it's possible there just wasn't all that many key FA signings that year.
