@Mingo Do you remember a former Bronco CB named Roger Jackson? Any good? He played a bit before my time well during my time but I was very young so don't remember him.

Dback wasn't on the 77 super bowl team - came later - maybe 80s - was around for 3 years maybe.

He played in Denver from 82-85 and again in 87.

He was a scout for the Chiefs, Vikings and Broncos.

I saw some Broncos fans upset that a guy like Ed McCaffrey didn't make it. To that I would say McCaffrey was good but we are talking about the Ring of Fame here. He wasn't even the best receiver on the team when he was with the Broncos.

The counter argument is the Ring of Fame is for the fans - so long time fan favorites should be memorialized especially Eddie Mac. He made clutch plays - he made the difference in the outcome of games - even while not compiling all the stats. The simple guide of stats memorializes guys who may have been beneficiaries of great QBs, or league trends -he may have compiled stats, but never come through with the game on the line.

Mac was one of my favorites. Loved his ability to go over the middle and make the ridiculous catches when the team absolutely needed somebody to make a play. I guess I'm just not seeing a guy I would quite put in the Ring of Fame. Although I guess if John Lynch can be in there with his short stint with the Broncos maybe he should be.

Eddie Mac is one of the good guys from the golden Super Bowl era of the 90's. I'm not sure anyone is going to be more deserving. I would put him in the Ring. I do think he'll get there soon.

The problem with Eddie Mac is - only one of his sons has won the Heisman Trophy. I would expect more out of a Ring of Famer. ;)

They would have been if they stayed and played for the Buffs.

Yeah, that would have cemented it but wasn't necessarily a requirement to make their mark. All the McCaffery kids went to high school just down the street from me and of course, Ed calls games on the radio. Trust me, they're quite the celebrity family here.

I liked the part where Eddie Mac would cut the unnecessary parts off his cleats - just to make them lighter and grab an edge in the game (or to get into the head of the guy covering him).

Isn't that cheating? LOL.
