PFT's Greatest Cowboys Ever Draft.

I was watching Pro Football Talk the other day. I like both guys, but this almost made me fall out of my chair. They had a 4-round draft of the greatest Dallas Cowboys ever. These are their choices...

MIKE
(1)Emmitt Smith
(3)Michael Irvin
(5)Jimmy Johnson
(7)Tony Romo

CHRIS
(2)Roger Staubach
(4)Troy Aikman
(6)Tom Landry
(8)Charles Haley

Stats called both of them out for not selecting Larry Allen, which I agree 100%. Then, he made a statement that requires him to be drug tested. He said he thinks Tony Romo is the best QB in Cowboys history. Yikes. I'm no Cowboy fan, but I know better than that. Stats gave the win to Mike, but I couldn't disagree more. Chris won this going away. Here's mine:

15. Lee Roy Jordan

Tex was great for the NFL and selling the Cowboy brand while Jerry is good at selling. I'd put Gil Brant ahead of both with regards to the front office

I'm no Cowboys fan, obviously, but I do respect and know the Cowboys do have a rich history of talented players. Florio didn't pick anybody whose career began before 1988.

The triplets are a package.

I honestly don't know how you could even come out with just one more from all of the Cowboys.

And Jerry should be on both the list of best and worst.

I'm always disappointed to see Jay Novacek left off of every list of great Cowboys.

Walls is another player left off of most lists. Neither are top 10-15 but they don't even get mentioned.

Jesus, is Florio 25 years old or something? That's horrible. How in the world you can pick Romo is ridiculous. Randy White? Bob Lilly? Dorsett? Renfro, Allen, Wright, Witten? Jimmy Johnson before Landry? Another example of how pretending the opinions of people with a microphone are more valid than John Doe on a message board is oftentimes silly....

Florio did say that Stats' comment about Romo being the best QB in Cowboys history was ridiculous and that it is obviously Staubach. Agreed.

I liked Tony Romo but he's not the best Cowboys QB ever. That'd be Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman.
