I wasn't that confident Tampa wasn't going to score but was very happy the way the Caps played last night

Tampa turned it on for a few segments last night, but the Caps played that frustration in your face game and they got the Bolts off their game (Kooch especially).

It's almost beautiful when you see a guy make a defensive play like a sweep check and the puck goes to open ice where your teammate is already moving toward in order to pick it up.

He is a clown, I have literally never seen a poster who likes this meat head. He followed a gang here when they all left another site like a lost puppy, then continued his douchebag behavior.
Life is too short to put up with such childish behavior. He brings nothing to the discussion. There are posters I really don't see eye to eye with, but at least we can exchange views, not with that clown. I ignored him and the site is better. If everyone put him on ignore he would go away. The only thing that guy got right is his screen name.:thumb:

That sounds awful. So glad there is no one else like that here.

All the "experts" on ESPN picked Tampa Bay to win. 4 of 4 of them.

I like it! :)

6 Reasons to Keep the Faith, Caps' Fans
  • The Caps are outscoring the Bolts 15-9 in 5v5 play during this season. If they can limit penalties, the odds swing strong in their favor.
  • The Caps have limited Tampa to less than 25 shots in 5 of the 6 games of this series. The only game where they had more than 25 was in a 6-2 loss with lots of outside/late/fruitless attempts on net. Tampa had less than 25 shots in only one of their 10 games against New Jersey and Boston in the first two rounds. Which is partly why...
  • The Capitals are averaging 10.4 more shots per game in this series.
  • Backstrom appeared fully healthy and looked just like #19 often does setting up great plays. This was the first time since game #2 of the Columbus series that all three guys were healthy and in the lineup, and the results showed at both ends of the ice. That's half the top 6 forwards during the season that have been out in part or in full since April 12th. Having that core fully back just makes all the O-lines more dangerous.
  • Orpik had his best playoff game in 2-3 seasons. If his intensity and physical intimidation continues and you add that to the already great play of Carlson, Niskanen, and Orlov, the defense becomes a suffocating beast.
  • The Caps are 6-2 this postseason on the road. Trotz has said the road really bonds guys and that sometimes the "us vs. everyone" in the arena mentality ensures guys come out with effort and intensity. He thinks those are factors in the road teams being successful this year in the playoffs. Of course I don't expect either team to be sluggish for a game 7 in the conference finals.

Keep the fucking faith, Caps! Go get it in game 7. Can't wait!

By the way, Mike Emerick had a great line last night that really stuck with me. Let me paraphrase it (don't remember it exactly), because it was just so good:

"These players really love this game. All of this effort and pain to win a trophy you don't get to keep and a ring that's too big to wear."

Wilson in the first period will be the key to the game. If Wilson can use the first few shifts to get the Caps ready, they have a good chance. If he doesn't lay the wood early, I think it's over in the second period.

here's to hoping TB actually shows up and gives us 3rd party fans a game worth watching. game 6 was so one-sided it was not really very entertaining.
