Tom Fornelli at CBS has Ohio State having an easier schedule than Wisconsin. Granted, ut's jut hs opinion and methodology.

Duke projects to be significantly better than Colorado. Either way Northwestern's is tougher, albeit slightly, IMO.

I don’t put huge weight on home or away. The in division schedules are essentially the same. So let’s look at the differences
OOC
ND > Colorado
Duke > Troy
Akron = Akron

Conference
MSU = MSU
Michigan = Michigan
Nebraska < Northwestern
Rutgers <<<<<<< Ohio State

I’d give the slight edge to Nebraska.

I’d give the slight edge to Nebraska.

Nebraska has a tougher in conference schedule I would agree with that. But I do think ND and Duke are significantly better than Colorado and Troy respectively. That would be two potential losses for either Nebraska or Northwestern. I do think Nebraska's SOS will look better because I don't think Troy will finish as the 97th best team in the country as the FPI currently projects them too.

I'm not sure how Michigan's schedule doesn't make the top 5. We play @OSU, @MSU, @Notre Dame and also play PSU and Wisconsin. By most pre-season polls, that's 3 top 10 teams and ALL in the top 15 or so. That's pretty darn rough.

No doubt they have a tough schedule. They were 8th.

This! Thus the futility of such rankings. Some teams opponents are going to be a hell of a lot better than predicted, some a hell of a lot worse. Who really expected Sparty and ND to be so bad a couple of seasons ago? No one saw those coming from teams that are normally much better than they showed.

thats not how it works.
1. an opening that falls on the same weekend.
2. can also agree to a later date for the return
3. is willing to play a P5 team
4. is willing to play a possible second P5 team if they already had one.
5. would be willing to play Oregon who was in the middle of a 13-2 season when the series was canceled. was coming off 6 consecutive seasons of 10 wins or more.
6. if into the off season Oregon was coming off CFP runner up.

but no yeah an open date is all that matters.

Oregon can't play themselves and they don't play USC, at least in the regular season. And Oregon is dragged down significantly for what has to be the worst P5 OOC schedule.
