This appears to be an Opinion Poll using NC's as a somewhat
deciding factor when it suits the author.

Polls have got to be consistent. This one isn't.

The Top 10 "Winningest" P5 programs over the last 25 years
are...

1- Ohio State .812
2- Fla State .758
3- Alabama .742
4- Oklahoma .731
4- Florida .731
6- Va Tech .724
7- Nebraska .718
8- Wisconsin .712
8- USC .712
10-Georgia .706

LSU, Auburn and Texas have no business being on that list
in the Top10.

Yes but national titles do hold major sway.

LSU, Aubrn, Texas have them in the last 25 years.
Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and Georgia do not.

With how shitty Michigan State was between Saban and Dantonio to make this list is surprising.

They seem to reward elite seasons over more consistency. Which I don't have a problem with. If you asked every Wisconsin fan if they'd trade their last 25 seasons with LSU, I'm sure all would. I'd rather win a National Championship then go 6-6 the next year over back to back 9-3 seasons.

I was a little surprised ND made the list as well. Between Holtz and Kelly we were probably worse than Michigan State was. I guess what put us on the list is each of Davie, Willingham and Weis had at least one good season.

Yes but national titles do hold major sway.

LSU, Aubrn, Texas have them in the last 25 years.
Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and Georgia do not.

I understand all of that and I'm not really debating you.
This was a link you posted not created.

But even using NC's as a major factor he does go against that.

Bama with 5 titles in 25 years is at #1. But Ohio St has 2
and they rank over FSU and UF who both have 3.

And he ranks Oklahoma who has 1 over both USC and Nebraska
who have 2.

He's not consistent. There is no way to determine how he is
compiling his rankings. That's why I listed the winningest teams.
His top 14 re the only teams that have won a NC over the last 25 years. But he doesn't rank them by total NC's...he just makes changes whenever he wants.

So if Ohio State's 2 NC's put them above FSU and UF, who each have 3, because
they have a better winning percentage...and he puts Oklahoma
with 1 title over USC and Neb, who each have 2, because they have a better winning
pct. he could put UGA, VPI and Wisconsin over LSU, Auburn and
Texas who only have 1 title. (The difference in titles would be
the same)

81% is pretty crazy. Besides the Luke Fickell year they’ve been a winning machine. Wish we could have those games back against Florida and LSU.

Ohio State has nailed every coaching search since firing Earle Bruce. Even though Cooper rarely beat Michigan and struggled the last couple years, he still won 78% of his games between 1993 and 2000, which would be the years this list falls under.

Thanks for sharing, No surprise to see Alabama at #1. Rest of the list looks solid as well.

I feel the same way about Nebraska. Can't believe we are featured on this list... at least it was last 25 years and not 10... or even 15 lol.

I agree. The feeling of winning a natty cannot be overstated.

No it didn't. We were just spoiled. We had compiled a record
of 152-19-1 .886... in the 14 years, prior to that. That's not normal.

Between 1980-89 we won 87 games. Between 2000-09 we won 85
games.

The decade of 2000-2009 is currently the third winningest decade in
FSU History. (Now 2010-2019 will probably top that when it is completed)

Next 10 feels somewhat generous for Mizzou. There was were some great seasons mixed in with some really bad ones.

About right for VT. Had the beginning of the Beamer rise and the last several on the decline. In between was great consistency with conference championships and a national championship appearance. Wish Beamer could have gotten that trophy to cap a great career. Fuente has done very well thus far and hopefully will get us back to the national conversation for a playoff spot. With Dabo building a great program and some other good teams that could be great, it's going to be tough.

Recruiting has always been our issue. Can't compete with teams in the top 4 when they're consistently in the top 5/10 recruiting on a yearly basis and we're in that 20-35 range.

Boise is hard to gauge. 25 years ago we were in the Big Sky conference in the FCS and getting our asses kicked on the regular by Idaho and Montana.
