What in the world does my post have to do with yours? :noidea: You don't agree that they Chiefs got rid of him because of salary. You think Cousin's won't be as good as Cousins? Please explain what is complete BS.

Smith was jettisoned because for the second time in his career, Smith's team realized he wasn't good enough to build a super bowl winning roster with. So they went with a higher upside option.
It was a $17M dollar decision only [business]

It wasn't business AT ALL. That's pretty cheap for a starting qb. It was about football. That's why they drafted mahomes and dumped smith. Smith has been dumped twice for football reasons.

The skins moving on from KC, THAT was a business decision. Due to their own errors, the Skins had no choice but to move on. Getting Smith was a good move to minimize the damage.

Being a Niner fan, I’ve seen it up close. Smith was traded to KC the year after his best season in SF. He was traded just months after by far and away his best season in KC. That means Two different coaching staffs found Smith’s ceiling and determined it wasn’t good enough. Then again, maybe it says something that Smith had his best season in both places only AFTER the team drafted his replacement.

We'll know in three years who was better. Over the past three years it has been Cousin's. You can call what I said BS but you don't know either.

ehb is right. It was the 2nd time he was let go. The Chiefs are saving money so we'll see. Andy is doing much like he did when he traded McNabb. Guy in his mid 30s. I have a younger QB. We'll see.

He was let go in KC for money reasons, period. As for the past three years, that nod goes to the winning QB.

LOL, maybe we should have drafted a QB then huh?

So last season, Blake Bortles was Smith’s equal?

Case Keenum, Nick Foles, and Jarrod Goff were better?

Alex Smith is better than Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers?

We'll see. :D So you subscribe to the fact that Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson were better QBs than Dan Marino, Sonny Jurgensen, Warren Moon and I could go on. :noidea:

Exactly. It doesn't mean he's an awful qb but the problem is his limited ceiling. Back to back teams realized they needed a higher upside option.

Do you have anything to actually back that claim up? Because i feel like it's pretty clear that wasn't why he was let go. Twice.

Look, go argue with someone else who cares about a QB who is gone. Smith as QB trumps anyone since Theismann who has been here at the position.

AS was traded to the Washington Redskins for business reasons. Mahomes is NOT better than Smith, that much is abundantly clear. If you care to argue that, there is no need to debate further. Why AS was let go in SF, who cares. He was traded from KC to WASH for Fuller & a 3rd round pick which tells me money and Mahomes' potential moving forward is exactly why Smith was traded. Honestly, Mahomes may be better one day than Smith but that remains to be seen. Since Cousins was not signing in WASH, Smith was a steady veteran QB presence who can lead this team into the playoffs. He will do just fine for the B & G.

Nope, I do not. But do subscribe to AS being a more complete and competent QB we have had since the days of Theismann.

Alright lets break this down bit by bit.

"AS was traded to the Washington Redskins for business reasons"

- this is an empty claim that you keep repeating. There is no evidence to support it or at least you have yet to present any.

"Mahomes is NOT better than Smith, that much is abundantly clear"

- this is again not true. Smith MAY be better than Mahomes. Or Mahomes MAY be better than Smith. Its foolish to speak so definitively of a player who has 1 career start (though he looked good in it). Mahomes is an unknown. That is why KC made the decision. Because they realized the unknown with higher upside was a better bet than Smith's known mediocrity. They are the 2nd team to come to this same realization. Eventually we will be the 3rd.

"Why AS was let go in SF who cares"

- You are the one arguing it was a business decision. I am saying it was a football decision. That seems to be whole point of disagreement.

"He was traded from KC to WASH for Fuller & a 3rd round pick which tells me money and Mahomes' potential moving forward is exactly why Smith was traded."

- I dont see what the compensation was has to do with anything. KC got a hell of a deal for a QB they didnt want anymore but I dont think that proves in any way it was about money. You are right though that it was about Mahomes potential moving forward. Same reason they drafted him. Because his potential is more valuable than Smith's know ability.

"Smith was a steady veteran QB presence who can lead this team into the playoffs. He will do just fine for the B & G."

- So? We cost ourselves a valuable pick and a valuable young player to downgrade at QB. Even if you assume Cousins was as good as gone we gave up valuable assets for an old QB who will not be able to take us to a SB. What does that accomplish? Mind you if all you wanted was to keep the team afloat there were other options - Keenum most notably but you could also take a much cheaper shot on somebody like Tyrod, Bridgewater, McCarron, or Bradford. Ultimately, we lost our possible long term QB, gave up 2 valuable assets to replace him, and STILL are in need of an actual franchise QB to win a SB with moving forward. That is a complete disaster.

You obviously care because you were arguing with others. I added my two cents when you made a stupid comment.

KC is the best QB we have had since Baugh. Alex Smith is a punk doomed to fail.

I don't think skinz wants facts or knowledge ehb. He said it and that makes it so. Do not argue with a guy that played 65lb tackle football. :pound:I know what I think will happen but will wait awhile to see if it plays out like I think.

The price for saying "hey I think we made a mistake here is" being told we aren't real Redskin fans. :noidea:

No, KC is not the "best since Baugh". "Alex Smith is a punk doomed to fail"?...look in the mirror bro...at least I have always known, who and what you are and...had the balls to say so.
