Sub 90 is better than most...actually pretty good for your 1st round!

I am an anomaly. The more I play, the worse I get. If i keep it spread out over the season and only play once every couple of weeks or so, I do great. If I start playing every week or more, my game goes to shit. Same reason I don't go to the driving range.

Played like shit Friday and Saturday. Started to turn it around yesterday, shot a 40 on the front, which included a triple bogie on two. Chipped well and got the pace of the greens down.

Turned the corner and shot a 48 on the back. Started out well, but fatigue hit on 13. When I get tired I tend to swing too hard and grip the club too tight...and that's what i proceeded to do.

Early season for you guys...legitimate reasons...not sure if I can use that excuse...10+ rounds in now.

It's been probably near 15 yrs now but the last golf lesson I had the instructor asked, how often do you play?

Once a week...oh, okay, you're in a tough spot...you play enough to have expectations, but not enough to realize them....consistently.

He was spot on...huge difference from the once a week player to the twice a week player.

I'm thinking walking the course three times a week might be taking it's toll. I have to figure out where to place my leg workout so it doesn't impact my game.

Walking 54 in a week is tough...no way I could do that here. I've now started playing the par 3 near the office once a week...I can walk can carry for 9 holes...take all the wood/metal out.

I walked the course today! Brought along a light standing bag with 9, PW, Gap, 60, putter and accompanied my buddy. I dropped one outside the 100 marker and played in from there. My bud had a 12 footer to break 40 for the first time and missed....he's a good player and this course is challenging.

Our 11th hole has been tarped and closed until last week so I hadn't played it yet (the one beside the clubhouse shown in that other thread). 134 yds to the pin downhill and my buddy stiffed a 9 iron inside 10ft on a nice draw. I can't swing full yet so I borrowed his 8 iron, swung easy and just pured it over the pin 15ft past. Lipped out the birdie putt so that was a fun way to finish.

It was just fantastic to be out hitting shots again. I think that the silver lining in this injury is that in order to relieve the stress pulling my arm across my chest I'm turning more fully and that's doing wonders.

My last round was officially changed to an 87. That 10 I carded, then adjusted to a 9 was actually a 7 according to the head pro.

FWIW...even after taking relief from it, if your ball hits a man made immoveable obstruction...you get to play the over without penalty.

This week is iffy...rain in the forecast all weekend.

We have a 12:36 set for Saturday, so we'll see.

My buddy shot a 78 at our new club yesterday!

He was bummed 'cause he close bogey bogey bogey but still, on this track I'd take a 78 any day of the week.

I might be able to play today....we'll see how it goes.

Get out there and play, if it hurts, rub some dirt on it.

Walked a full 18 with a full set of clubs yesterday....took a while to get going but the shoulder loosened up and I started connecting ok. Prolly shot high 80s if I added it up but it was just nice to be out for the first time in a few weeks. Still swinging real easy and hitting one extra club.

My buddy was on fire once again and was 5 over on the 16th tee once again. I knew it but stfu for his sake. He doubled 16 out of a bunker but then held on to closing pars to finish with a 77. Couldn't be happier for him but get this, he has a lesson scheduled for today at 1:00 if it isn't a rain out. Cripes, I tried to convince him to hold off on it. He didn't even putt all that well yesterday but hit several greens and almost all the fairways. I think it's gonna do nothing but fuck him up at this point.

Good you were able to get out.

Agree 100%, not sure why your buddy was looking for a lesson, but I would cut it short if I did it at all...the pro will have to find something to justify his hour, but 77 with probably less with than a dz rounds on the track...just gonna give him something to think about aside from the target.

Better than getting out, my shoulder is really healing fast now so I'm very excited.

...AND, Phil (tired of typing out my buddy) picked up a G400 Max so of course, I had to do the same! He demoed all the clubs yesterday and said that one really jumped with incredible accuracy just like I've been reading about. The store only had one so one's being shipped.

I've been all over ebay looking at all of the deals and you're just not going to find a mint condition G400 Max for much less than the $400 they're going for new.

Played nine...course was moving too slow to try for 18.

Shot a 44. Damn triple bogie on two...I hate two.

Ninth hole, par 5. Hit maybe my longest drive of the year..280ish, then hit my seven wood and ended up on the fringe. My putt was dead center, but must have been a little too fast, it took a little hop and rested an inch on the other side of the cup. Had to settle for a birdie.

Damn eagles must be allergic to me.

Being I was on the fringe and not on the green, did the flag need to be pulled since it was being attended?

Why would you attend the flag?

I'm still playing around with drivers, but my 3w is probably the next to get updated...maybe late summer for the driver...some OEMs are transitioning into a new driver for '19 so I might be able to save a few bucks on the outgoing driver...that's how I bought this 913D.

The Ping 400max is killer...for me, distance the Rogue and G400 are longer, but I'm hitting the 917 straighter on the monitor.

Off the green...the flag can be in or out, but you can't tend it.

Why would you attend the flag?

Because twice this year i was chipping for an eagle and hit the pin just hard enough that the ball didn't drop.
