Doubtful. I think Lebron is smarter than that. If he wants to play with one other max guy and a bunch of older vets...he can do that in Cleveland.

He essentially caused Irving to demand a trade, and he was a young star

That's not what happened and thats not at all the same as making the Lakers trade their young guys

Lebron can he had in LA, in fact, it would probably be his biggest payday when considering publicity factors

I think it would work out ok, assuming the coach can handle him

I don't think he hates LeBron.

I think he doesn't want the Lakers throwing max money at a guy that will be 36 with alot of mileage on him.

He has been very fortunate to not get any major injuries, but father time is undefeated. At some point, he will break down regardless of how well he keeps in shape.

Saw it with Kobe. Lots of miles, and one freak injury while trying to drive to the basket, and nothing but injuries followed until he was a shell of himself.

It will happen to LeBron as well at some point during his next contract. Only question is, which team is left footing a max contract when it happens.

oh, i despise LeClown. I think he's the most self centered, arrogant piece of crap to ever disgrace a basketball arena...

fuck him AND his "legacy"...

that said, the point is why sell out on a guy who could well be into his decline just to come up short of titles. playoffs are nice, but big deal...

I keep saying it over and over again. we don't need LeClown and his antics to win titles ...

Kyrie wanted out of Cleveland because he wanted to be "the man". I'm no particular fan of Lebron, but this one isn't on him.

Before Lebron returned to Cleveland, the Cavs were Kyrie's team and they were going to build around him.

Lebron decided to return and it was no longer Kyrie's team. Kyrie never liked having someone else decide when he got the ball. He wanted to be the one deciding when everyone else got the ball.

That's why Kyrie left. Lebron didn't want Kyrie to leave. In a way, it was Shaq/Kobe all over again. You had a superstar who was still a viable superstar but in decline (in Lebron's case, the best player in the world) and a young up and coming superstar who wanted to be the leader.

The older guy didn't want to give up his lead role and the younger guy felt like it was his time. The difference is, in the Lakers case, the older guy essentially forced his way out, where with the Cavs, it was the younger guy.

Another difference is, Lebron has declined far less than Shaq had at the time because Lebron (like Kobe) stays in top shape year round.

I agree, he has. I could be wrong, but I think he's smart enough to see the writing on the wall.

Even if the Cavs come back and win this series, he's got to know that himself, another max guy and some solid vets chasing a ring isn't going to work when facing a young, hungry team that is faster, more athletic and well coached.

As much as I would like to see the Lakers get him, if trading away the young core is part of what it takes, then I'd want the Lakers to pass too.

I'd be more reluctant about it than CL, but I'd want them to pass on him.

So your team couldn't use the best all around player in the game to turn things around faster? LeBron's a jackass but he would make 99.9% of the teams better overnight. The only exception would be the Warriors because they don't need him, they're already loaded.

I really don't understand why people keep saying the Lakers won't have their young core.

Assuming the Lakers got Lebron and PG. They would be signing them as FA's, not trading for them. PG is still fairly young and the only young player the Lakers would be losing is Randle.

When Lebron leaves/retires, they would still have PG and the current young core minus Randle who would be entering their prime. They would also have the playoff and hopefully championship experience gained from having signed Lebron and PG.

Lakers wouldn't have their young core if they trade for Kawhi, which is the ideal get of the 3 IMO (but could wait for free agency if they want to chance it). They could potentially lose Randle chasing the Lebron/PG13 pairing. They already gave away 3 young players (but did get Kuzma with one pick obtained and have another this year) for short term rentals to keep the team competitive while maintaining cap space.

Is he ready to be part of a team effort, or is he going to play hero ball like he did in game 2? He would need to trust these kids to make plays or the signing will be a bust IMO.

Well that's why LeBron to L.A. in my opinion is unrealistic right now. I know your team has a bunch of money but I can only see him in Purple & Gold if they get the players that would make him comfortable enough to sign there & be a title contender from day 1. All we are doing right now is playing a guessing game. It wouldn't surprise me if Lebron doesn't even know where he'll be next year right now.

If the Lakers have this need to sign the max player, just go with PG and be done with it continuing on with the roster of youngsters they already have developed that are really beginning to put together something good.

KD'd be a GREAT addition, but he's not gonna be available for a while...:D

Klay might be available though.:heh: Until he re-ups w/ the Warriors someone might give him an offer he can't turn down. And for anyone that reads this comment don't start w/ what Klay has already said, I'm well aware. This is nothing more than a what if he changes his mind comment. I would be shocked if he did though.

You know who would look good in a legendary Lakers uniform? Jammin' Jimmer Fredette! Am I right @Mecca?:D
