British actor Frank Dillane's (Nick) explanation on why he wanted out of the show is in the following article:

'Fear the Walking Dead' actor explains why he asked off the show

Here is a Dillane quote from the article:

"I also missed Europe very much. I’m not American, so after a while I get quite homesick and all of those things."

Translation: The show's production moved to Texas for Season 4, and Texas sucks ass.

The way the season ended doesn’t make sense if he’s been wanting out.

He clearly went to them once the show runner change was made.

He’s definitely homesick as well I’m sure, but the change played a part

Last nite's episode was not bad. At least it gave us some back story to Jenna Elfman and Garrett Dillane's characters. Before this episode most of the other episodes did not make much sense.

Yeah, decent episode, carried by a couple decent actors.

A couple minor gripes...

1) Why did he ump into the ditch?

2) What attracted the walkers to rock the Jeep? There was no apparent sound.

1) No idea. Why not just thump them his safe side? I think it was just a reason to get to #2...

2) Yeah, I couldn't figure that out either. The sound of running water? I mean, why not just string some barb wire up across the river or put some spikes in there??? Eh, it was just a plot device to have the gunfighter save her with some fancy moves, which then answers #1.

So I assume that Laura/Naomi is still alive. Otherwise this was a bit of a throw away episode. The question is was John lied to or did they simply mistake her for dead? It was good to get some backstory but would have been nice if they could have advanced the plot somehow as well.

I am not convinced at all that Laura/Naomi is dead. I think the group ran from the stadium and just assumed everyone still there was dead.

I suppose it's possible that they are lying again just to coerce him into fighting, but I don't think they are that diabolical. I'm guessing Naomi/Laura did whatever she had to do (hide/fake being dead/join up) to stay alive....

Is this show any good? I gave up on it after the first season. Most of the characters were awful and the acting was bad. The idea was intriguing.

Not worth a binge, IMHO.

It is in S4 now and basically doing a reboot, but I fear they will kill all the new characters (the only GOOD characters). While this season is a step up, it wasn’t worth the investment to get here.

Good? Meh

Better then the original currently? Easily

Improving? Yes

But yeah, not exactly good.

It's ok. I like many of the new characters.. The scavengers are an interesting take on some bad guys.

My problem with this whole scavengers arc, is their intention really evil?? all they seem like a peaceful version of the saviors... but unlike the saviors, they don't force people to join their group...

the only reason the scavengers are the villains, is because Madison said so, and is unwilling to give away her leadership... which is ironic, since she is all about family and group, and will do anything to protect it, except join up with the bigger group...

am I missing something??

I think it’s evil in the sense that it’s extremely passive aggressive and they are clearly trying to force you into a certain choice.

But in terms of being violent and ruthless killers yeah don’t think that’s them.

I got the vibe at the end of the episode last night the last thing Mel wanted to do was engage in gun fire

If the Scavengers are not a violent group, then where is all the animosity in the "future" scenes?? And knowing madison, she cares so much about her keeping power that she will make the first move in war...
