Just because he's been held back several times I don't think he should be claiming to be an "8th grader". Dude looks like he's 30.

There was a kid in my high school who was 6’ 10” as a freshman but couldn’t make the freshman basketball team. He grew so fast, he was like a baby giraffe trying to get his legs underneath him. He never did get very coordinated, but he made the team in subsequent years and basically just camped under the basket.
