Seems about right given what other guys got this off-season. Still an asinine amount of money

I like him, he's among the game's best QB's. That said it's a bit of an overpayment IMO.

Can everyone who chortled about how Wilson's deal was the looming sign of the apocalypse change their vote now?

Every new premier QB contract is always an overpay. Until the next year.

I didn't realize Ryan was only 32. This'll seem reasonable in 3 years. I think he's a top 5 QB

Think of when QBS in the near future have to be paid such as Carson Wentz of the Philadelphia Eagles, Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Jameis Winston of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to name just a few.

My guess is they will be significantly over paid even if they dont hit $30 mil because they arent quite as good as the top in the league

Hopefully the cap will rise to allow this or teams will not be able to stay as competitive as you do usually need more than just a good QB

Boy, I get the cost for a good QB and I've always liked Ryan, but he is 33 and had one great year. He is a Good QB, but not a great QB and if I remember correctly the cap hasn't gone up much this year or next. Methinks Atlanta may regret this, but until we see the specifics it's tough to say. $100M guaranteed sure sounds a little reckless to me though

Ryan has always driven me crazy. He had one great year, but throughout his career, it seems like he;s always just been good enough to keep around, but not good enough to take a team over the top.

But he is better and more accomplished the Cousins, and he does own Aaron Rodgers head to head, so I guess you have to pay the man.

Will he have Julio Jones to throw too? I know he's with them until 2019 but with that contract he just got would they have the money to resign Jones?

I don't see it as an overpay. If Cousins is worth $28m, how can Ryan not be worth $30m? If that's the market, then the man got paid the market, unless of course you believe Cousins is better or worth more than Ryan...
