Did Stidham have any arrests?

No, he seems to be a very good young man. My niece is graduating Baylor next month and knew him from one of her study groups and said he is a really nice person that is obsessed with being a starting QB. FWIW Jalen is an outstanding young man. He will be an asset for any team. IMHO he stays a Bama until he graduates.

He played at Baylor for a year, so just assumed that was a prerequisite.
Guilty by association? You are the company you keep?

Here is something I find weird. My asshole brother-in-law is a Baylor alumni. He claims applications to attend Baylor have actually gone UP since the scandal. I don't believe him but I did tell him it made sense to me...which really pissed him off. But, I've been pissing him off for nearly 50 years.

Makes sense.

You're grabbing people's attention.

Getting notoriety.

Being able to grasp someone's attention so much adds a lair of legitimacy to whatever you were doing.

PT Barnum was masterful at this.

48 Laws of Power shows some great examples.

That and many 18 years kids think "Cool! Sex Fest on the Brazos River"! Count me in!

(But, beware. Some of it isn't consensual)

If Tua is so much better, why did it take Saban so long to notice it? This race will be closer than people think.

Your remarks maybe the correct answer.

When Tua came into that game he was brought in to throw the damn ball. He was allowed
to break away from the Bama offense. Get them to the end zone was his job.

He maybe very skilled over Hurts throwing the ball, but Hurts maybe more competent
in executing the entire Bama offense.

We'll know more in the fall.

What could be an issue for Bama is not if Hurts leaves but when he leaves. Hurts has
not graduated so he would have to sit out the 2018 campaign. (Or at least one year
at his next stop) Thus he could bolt in the middle of fall practice. I don't care who
you are that can have a negative reaction. You lose your former starting QB a couple
of weeks before the 2018 season and Hurts enrolls somewhere else.

Hurts would have a big decision to make but he maybe prepared to make it.

Hurts is from Texas, he could want to come home. Plenty of schools here to choose from, all hard up for QBs.

IMHO he stays a Bama until he graduates.

He will be a grad transfer if he does transfer IMO. This will be his 3rd year and it's pretty common for them to get degrees in their 3rd year these days. He enrolled early as well, so even more likely. I'd be surprised if he wasn't among them.

So don't think we'd be seeing a Blake Barnett type deal where he leaves after 4 games. Speaking of Blake - he actually had more playing time with Alabama in his 4 game career than he did all of last year with ASU.

Good point. They were behind when Tua came in and had to throw caution to the wind. No more "don't lose it for us" but "go get points" instead.

If Bama played with the offensive throttle wide open every game, they'd probably be even more dominant than they already are! That's scary. Just don't see that happening with Saban's DNA. He's adjusted to a degree but I still think he'd blow a gasket if the offense put the defense on the field too much by scoring too quickly or risking turnovers. It just isn't him IMHO.

I'm not sure he'll go. If he does, I could see him going to the Big 12.

Will be interesting to see where he ends up. I'd like to keep him with Alabama but if he leaves some school will get a good player.

I mean, I have a hard time seeing him getting to be as good as Tua.

He cost you one title with some of the most abysmal QB play i've ever seen in a title game QB (maybe the worst since Florida State's backup QB back in the 98 NCG).

Bama's best pass play, hell the best pass thrown all game, was by a WR. He had WRs open for days, he just couldn't hit them.

Hurts was one half away from throwing away 2 titles.

I put that first title on Steve Sarkisian...the play calling was abysmal. Yeah we could have executed better on offense, but Sark's play calling was awful

I don't disagree. Especially in the 2nd half when it should've been probably 3 runs in most situations. I have no idea why they ignored using Harris more down the stretch.

But Hurts made just laughably bad decisions. He turned what should've been a 15 yard run (and a first down) into running himself out of bounds for a loss.

he had OJ Howard on a TD drag wide open on like a 3rd and 6 that he turned into a punt when a simple short flip to Howard is a big gain for a first down.

A fair amount of the sacks were on Hurts and not on protection or coverage.

He missed at least 3 or 4 guys who had 5 yards on the defender on deep balls....and missed by 10 yards.

It was painful to watch.
