UF figured out a long time ago they have to pay up to get the talent to move us among the top publics. The head finance prof. makes over $400k now.
It's probably a lot like getting winning coaches...they pay big money for the top National people and sometimes it pays off. It's paying off in our academic rankings, although I still think yankee bias has us ranked too low.

He's a Florida boy too.. and I'm sure that yankee bias is absolutely keeping UF lower in the rankings.. but whatevs.. we will get there the old fashion way.. hard work and perseverance
