Eli needs to throw less jump balls to get his interceptions down. (Commence thumbs-downing now, Giants fans). Most of his INTs are deflections because he's trying to get throws into places he shouldn't, and they end up tipped and right into a safety's waiting hands. Opposing defenses know this. Eli is not a bad QB by any stretch, but he has very athletic receivers who make insane catches...and he sort of relies on that too much. He's a risk taker like Brett Favre was, and that's why his INT totals are high. The strange part about it is that there's no reason for it.

And, for reference's sake, Patriots fans see the same thing from Tom Brady, though not as often, when he tries to force throws to Gronk.

I agree. People always tell me that the two Super Bowls were pure luck.
Honestly not sure if he will go to the hall at all. He is a postseason QB. During the regular season it usually isn't that great.

I do think that there was a couple of KEY plays that was no doubt luck but to say that the entire runs for both SB wins was lucky isn't accurate IMO. Teams get hot at the perfect times...you see it in every sport. The defense for those two runs gets a ton of credit and it's deserving. They played REALLY well in the playoffs. But to say that defense was what won those SB's is not entirely true. Take a look at Eli's playoff stats in 07 and 11. They were really good. I'll admit he does make some bone-headed INT's sometimes but a lot of those are not always his fault. Catchable deflections, receivers running the wrong routes, etc. contribute to many of his INT's. I do believe that he has to go down as one of the best, if not the best, QB in Giants history. We have been very lucky to have a QB who never misses a game and gives us a chance to win every time he steps onto the field.

Stats don't lie. Put his stats up against other HOF QB's.

Eli delivered in the biggest games.
Possible Hall of Famer in my opinion.
I am not a big stats guy.

He may have delivered in the big games yes you can't take that away from him. However, how many times in his career has he made a bad throw that cost his team the game?
