What a weekend though... I know that history and percentages tell you the second weekend usually plays out like chalk pics but I like Wv against Villanova..especially if JC and Dax can continue to play at the level they are playing at right now...completely disruptive on the defensive side of the ball...and if you can stop the Villanova guards ..you got better than a fighters chance

Question though..actually a riddle...how small can a 6'8" 235lb forward play?...answer...ask Esa Ahmad...being that physically gifted he plays like hes 5'2 and weighs 90 pounds..if he had half the moxie and play with half the anger #50 does this team could challenge for the title...

JC looks like a man on a mission. He wants to win the dance be mvp and propel himself into the first round of the draft.

The team hit on all cylinders last night. They will need to keep it up to have a game against nova.

Lamont West making the big 3s will be key. When he scores in double digits, we usually win. Double double for him last night. He actually played like a big man and not just a tall shooting guard.

Sags is the monster I thought Asa would be at the start of the season.

If we get by nova we could go all the way. I worry about Kansas in the final 4. Could they beat us 4 times in a year.

B12 redemption year. 4 teams in the sweet 16. I have all of them still alive in my bracket. If not for the trams from Cincy my bracket would look great.

Way to call out West...I have been giving him shit all year long as well...and candidly deservedly so..he brought a whole different level last night..speaking of which don't get excited of what Teddy did over the weekend... I was texting BBW during the Murray State game that he had an ideal matchup and they just should have kept feeding him..that kid had no shot of keeping off the blocks.., same as last night..he will have tough sledding from here on..

Is it just me or does it scare the hell out of everyone when Beetle runs the point? Just tee him up as the two and let him fire away...he totally is out of sync when he has to think too much..

Highest ranking in over 50 years.

Respected and feared by most coaches in the country.

Takes a kid with no D1 offers and turns him into NBA caliber player.

Does all of this with no McDonald All star or 5 star players (only 1 4 star at that)

I think he has already proved he is elite this year. I'm sure you will be the first one to post if we do not beat a Nova team boasting several All Americans and 4 players destined for the NBA.

I’ll give credit where it is due. Huggs if not elite is an awesome coach. When is the last time WVU has made the sweet 16 in 3 of 4 years? These are the glory days of WV basketball...just like the RR\Stewart years were for football.

Whenever a broadcast talk about Huggy being a HOF, which he will, they show his wins and always say he is the 1 active coach with that many wins who hasn’t won a NC. While the fact that he hasn’t won the NC doesn’t diminish his accomplishments, it is the main goal many of you hung on a 1st time head football coach. Many of you placed unrealistic goals on Dana. Yes, his game needs to step up going into his 8th season, but many of you don’t expect the same out of Huggy. Simply incredible. Why can’t Huggy bring in the McDonald’s All Americans? Is it he can’t recruit, as many has stated about Dana? Or is it that we think we are revalent to the landscape of college football and basketball when we aren’t. Quit living off of our Bowl wins from 10 years ago. I would have thought we would have won a basketball Conference Championship by now. We were close twice, but if you’re not first, you’re last.

What defines an Elite coach? Talking heads all agree he is a future HOF coach. His amount of victories ranks up there with the best. He just lacks 1 piece of hardware that the others have that are in the same category. Is the NC trophy the marker that separates the Great from the Elite?

I wondered aloud for the last 2 seasons, or so, if Huggy has lost touch with the youth. Teddy Buckets seems to have conformed to Huggy’s rules, but I still think his short lease and other outbursts is not what some of these kids want these days. His 15-1 run shut me up because it was hard to argue that run. Then the wheels started to fall of the cart again whenever the team lost many double digit second half leads. The first 2 games of the tourney were what I expected to see, but I didn’t go into either game with an abundance of confidence. I am ecstatic that they pounded Marshall especially after hearing one of their fans say during an interview that we took away the series. After that beating, I hope the Nation can see why.

No, the loss to Texas did that, dropped us from a likely 3 seed to the 5. I haven't been on the computer much as I have spent nearly all my time writing a book, has nothing to do with sports!!!

About Huggs losing touch... Do you see how hard these kids play for him? 3 of 4 in the Sweet 16 He is doing something right.

We have the same issues in recruiting in both football and basketball. Certain teams not named WVU are pipelines to the pros. Kids go to those programs. One of those is Kansas who seems to keep winning the conference with lottery pick players. Huggs does it with guys who don't get another Div 1 offer.

We may have different definitions of Elite. BBdad says make the Elite 8 and he is elite. Now the rules have changed and he must win a NC to be elite. I'm hoping that JC stays hot these next 4 games and you guys say not elite until multiple NCs.
