Massive. He has always had one. I've always thought he was a huge dick. You get away with a lot when you win.
He's an asshole, but man hegets the job done. It's a shame it seems that he was an asshole to the point it cost him the super bowl. They didn't need much to alter that outcome and Butler was probably the difference.

He's been an asshole before to prove there's only one patriot way and it's cost the team some, but the long term value of defending the patriot way usually won out. In this case they were to close to the trophy to make that trade worth it.

Tom Curran of NBCBS is reporting that Gronk has told him that he did not have any fun playing for the Patriots in 2017. Curran contacted some other guys and asked them what they thought of playing as a Patriot last year.........seems the vets have pretty much had it with Belichick's demands that everyone think football 24/7. Team first, family second, nothing else. Curran said that he's wondering if this is a result of Butler being benched or if Belichick is just pushing too hard.

Gronkowski has pretty much had it with the Patriots' training staff and Belichick doesn't want him or anyone else going outside the his staff. Problem is that he can't stop anyone from doing what they think is better for them. If they think that lifting weights is keeping them from recovering from an injury and doing Pilates is helping, can't force them to do something that hurts more than it helps.

We may coming to a time where the Belichick Way is becoming the "Old Way" and players are seeing and trying more modern methods of training and working out.

Rumors across TV programs tonight are saying that Brady, Belichick and Kraft are going to meet very soon and Kraft wants to clear the air. Clear the air or clear out Gillette?

Well I will believe when I hear a vet say it.... So tired of unsubstantiated stories.

I don't know who Mark Daniels is, but he had a couple of statements yesterday. He apparently was doing a feature article on Gronk last year and the "Patriots" (Belichick??) tried to keep him from getting it done. He had to do a lot of moving and shaking and when he wrote the feature it was only 1400 words. He said it was the toughest write he's ever done and he nearly gave up.

Very interesting statement from an unnamed Patriot player...." When you make a mistake or screw up BB lets you know it in no uncertain terms and generally in front of the team. When you make a good play or even an extraordinary play, your just doing your job. Coordinators give congrats and high fives, BB rarely even smiles."

I think that a lot of veteran players are starting to get a bit sick and tired of the constant pressure of the Belichick way and the undercurrent that now may include Brady, Gronk and even Hightower, is going to force Robert and/or Johnathan Kraft to step in and start smoothing the road. My gut tells me that BB will be the most resistant to any changes in his methodology.

It appears that the biggest problem that BB is facing is that Brady, Gronk, Edelman and Danny Amendola are all on board with Alex Guerreo and the TB12 diet and training methods. The hardest thung for him to accept is that other than JE's knee blowing out, that the other three have played better each year under the TB12 Program and it appears that the older they get, the better it works. More and more players in football and other professional sports are now buying into the plan and training system. The results so far are very encouraging and it could be the way of the future for pro sports.

Well BB really needs to move past the TB12 training method, it appears to work and IMO he needs to cut some slack there. And by the same token TB12 trainers need to understand the players are contracted and team doctors need to have say it what takes place as well as team trainers.

As to the whole BB doesn't extend congrats for nice plays, really man up guy's you shouldn't need the reassurances of your head coach at this point in your career. And as long as BB is treating all players the same across the board I see no issue.

As I said on the main board if it comes down to the Pats retaining BB or Gronk I say, thanks for the years Rob good luck on Dancing With The Stars.

Does that apply to Brady, Edelman, etc. etc.??

Considerering the success of the program so far, I say, "See ya, Bill. Thanks for the Championships. Have fun on the beach with your Barbie Doll."

Well of all the speculative reports in the offseason it's only Gronk being mentioned so yeah See Ya Rob, and if Brady wants to go see ya Tom, I mean how time do we really think Tom has left? And again to reiterate these reports are all very unsubstantiated.

It's hard to say but I think BB may be on thin ice. Things are starting to pike up on him and it takes a whole lot of atta-boys to make up for one awe shit.

RK is probably still pissed off about spygate.
You have the Alex G issue.
A handful of questionable calls that may have cost this team some big games.
The Jimmy G trade.

Those are just things off the top of my head.

I'd hate to see him go but it may be the necessary evil.

I've heard many times that Tom Curran does not report things that don't have something factual stuff behind them. One thing that has come from multiple outlets is that Belichick was told by Kraft that Tom Brady is was not to be traded or even offered as bait. The Patriots have been a franchise since 1960 and a member of the NFL since the merger in 1970. They've been in the NFL for 48 years and Tom Brady has been the quarterback for 18 of them or for 37.5% of the team's existence in the NFL. It seems that BB might have been inclined to trade Brady and keep JG as the QB of the future. Considering what he got, there are many who think he took less than he could have gotten just to spite Kraft. But who really knows?? Belichick is the only one who knows for sure.

The time is coming where everyone, Brady, Gronk, Belichick and the Krafts will have to move on to the next era of the Patriots' chapter of football history. It can be smooth and everyone shakes hands, pats each other on the back and everyone gets a gold Rolex. Or it will be nasty and a mess like an egg dropped on a ceramic tile floor. The clean up won't be easy, but it will eventually get done and the kitchen will return to normal........but let's be honest, the Patriots have never been normal........at least since 2001.

The change will be interesting, some of us remember when the Pats were bottom feeders and we will know how to deal with it, better than some others I suspect

Just drove my grandson to school and was listening to WEEI, Kirk and Callahan. They are some kinda wound up this morning. Patriot beat writers are all working on a huge story that is about to blow up. For the first time in the past 14 years, Tom Brady has refused to restructure his contract. Belichick has always been able to rely on Brady to create cap space by redoing his contract. They said Brady's cap hit was $20M, then they said $22M, then they said $20M. I don't know what it is, but it's the second part of the story that really has set them on fire. Brady will not restructure OR............extend for two years.

So the talking heads are all trying to figure out exactly what this all means. Does it mean that Brady wants concessions from Belichick to allow Alex Guerreo back in Gillette and allow him to work with players who choose the TB12 training methods? Does it mean that Brady is done after 2019 and will retire from professional football? Does it mean that Tom Brady will walk away from the Patriots after 2019 and see if some menatlly ill owner will pay him $100M + for two years? They asked a pretty telling question.....If Tom Brady was cut by the Patriots and became an immediate free agent, is there a team who would immediately Call him and make a $60M a year offer for three years guaranteed? If Kirk Cousins is worth $28 guaranteed and has never won a Super Bowl, is Brady worth twice as much with all of his rings and records?

Think Elway would be in line to dish out huge cash? Or O'Brien? Or Patricia? What would the New York Jets offer him??

Right now, there isn't enough toilet paper in Boston supermarkets to wipe all of the asses that have dropped a bundle this morning.

I don't think it means a damn thing about BB, or Alex, or the Pats I believe it means TB12 want's what he agreed to. He is at the end of his run, has done enough for this team and it's time to get what little bit he has left. I think this is a non-story that the media and morons will try to make a bigger deal than it it is.

And there is no way he get's cut. That is just dumb.

I was trying to make a point about his value if he was all of a sudden a free agent. That was the easiest way I could think of Brady being totally out from under the Patriot influence.

As far the other stuff goes, I think there's a serious problem underneath the surface. When BB benched Butler in the Super Bowl, that just brought it all into the open much more than any other time in the past 20 years. Brady isn't a kid and at 41 doesn't want to treated like one. BB is 45 years older than most rookies and can get awy with a lot of his "I'm the Boss" stuff. Brady is pretty much on equal footing with Belichick and maybe he's letting him know exactly where Tom's position is in the heirarchy.

There's been an ongoing argument about BB or TB and who's more important. BB has put the teams together but TB has made them as good as they've been.

If BB walks, do the Patriots win the Super Bowl?? 50-50 chance? If Brady walks, do the Patriots win the Super Bowl? 10-90 Chance??

Yeah I just flat out do not buy there is an ongoing issue about who's more important, I think that is media fodder created to stir the masses. The coach is the coach and the QB is the QB. I really don't think TB12 using Alex G is that much of an issue, I think people want to make it one.

As it relates to your personal beliefs on the percentage of winning a SB that train of thought holds no water with me at all. It holds no water because neither are going anywhere, as I said this is the end of the run for TB12 he has on multiple occasions restructured his deal, he knows full well it's very likely the last one so he wants what was negotiated that is fair. And BB will just have to coach through that, equally fair.

Like I said this is off season media fodder exaggerated to stir up drama, and no more than that. Both will be there next year season and the perpetual dynamic that is NFL moves on. This too shall pass.

Easy solution for Brady's next deal is to give him a series of guaranteed 1 year contracts at the minimum salary with no signing bonus and a $30M roster bonus that becomes fully guaranteed on the first day of training camp. That way he gets a fair guaranteed payday every year he shows up to play, and the Pats aren't tied to any long-term dead money when he decides to hang it up.
