Out here in NE Ohio, even though he is a high risk player who is one step away from a lifetime ban, the success starved Browns fans still treat Gordon like the second coming of Jerry Rice and would be in open revolt if they released him. That being said, he might be available in a trade. If BB is really serious about getting Gordon, he would need to offer the Browns something of value. Just spitballing here, but, if BB might also be interested in QB Deshone Kizer, a trade of Dorsett and Gillislee (to replace UFA Isaiah Crowell) for Gordon and Kizer might work. Probably won't happen, but it would sure be an interesting transaction.

Think they'd give up Kizer, Gordon and OT Rod Johnson for Gronkowski??

I don't think Landry would end up in NE, they won't give him the money...I also don't want Watkins or Lee here in NE. Both have injury concerns and Watkins just takes plays off. I mean, are we moving on from Cooks after next yr? Hogan still has multiple years left (health wise), and MM if he returns and stays healthy will be a big boost. You know damn well the JE will be back and be just fine for the next 2 yrs. Dorsett is young, fast and seemed to catch on. He will have another year here in NE and is controllable for another yr. If you are debating between Britt and Dola, I think I'll take Dola. I would rather have NE draft a young WR and groom him over the next yr.

Cooks is going to be a FA one way or the other next year. Belichick will not Franchise him because the WR tag will be $17-$19M next year. Someone with a boatload of cap space will sign him for 3-4 years at $20M. A lot of what's being thrown around is 100% conjecture. Still have 20 days before the 2018 season officially starts.

Here in New England the temps were in the 60's Tuesday and we broke all time records yesterday when the temp hit 76. Right now it's 38 and we're going to get snow after lunch. The weather is affecting brain function.

BigKen, I don't think the Browns would bite. They have Dave Njoku as their starting TE and probably wouldn't be interested in a veteran with an injury history, even someone as talented as Gronk. Kizer is readily available, as the Browns will most likely sign a vet FA QB (AJ McCarron is being talked about) and will draft another in the first round of the draft. Joe Thomas is talking retirement, so the Browns may be thin at OT.

Would have been nice to see him get a ring first just to flip the bird at the Jets...but oh well.

I was told that New England is the perfect ploy for any team looking to move a player. KC wanted to move Peters and the first team mentioned was the Patriots. Amazing how fast he got traded to the Rams. Truth was that the Patriots were actually never contacted. Last place Andy Reid would want to send a 3 time time Pro Bowler is New England. Now that Talib has been mentioned as a possible returnee to the Patriots, Elway will probably trade him to the Giants for a peanut butter sandwich.

Saw on the telly today..............Vontae Davis is headed to Buffalo. Don't you find it hysterical that as soon as the Patriots reportedly have interest in someone, Buffalo, Miami or the Jets immediately start making a move. It tends to make one wonder if BB is leaking this stuff to just make another AFCE team make a move out of sheer terror.

Preston Brown said he "could help improve NE defense"...be nice, but I think it's a ploy to get Buffalo to pay up. He would solve a lot of problems on the inside and let High and Noy play the outside...

No surprise.............would love to see him in red, white and blue

In a move that has seemingly been coming down the pike for a while now, the New York Jets released defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson on Wednesday. The Jets announced the move via their official Twitter account.

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported in December that Wilkerson expected to be released this offseason after his relationship with the team had deteriorated over the last few years.

Muhammad Wilkerson, the Jets' highest paid player, is virtually certain to be elsewhere next season, with the relationship between him and the team in disarray and both parties bracing for a split this offseason. Wilkerson was left home from a recent road trip for being late, something he's been fined for frequently in the past, and may not play again this season, though he did return to practice last week.

Wilkerson signed a five-year, $86 million deal in 2016 and his 2018 salary becomes fully guaranteed on March 16. It would be beyond shocking if he is not gone by then, though the Jets are not in a rush to make any decisions at this point.

The Jets saved $11 million on their 2018 books by cutting ties with Wilkerson before his March 16 guarantee date. Wilkerson had become a star over his first few seasons in the league, recording 301 tackles and 36.5 sacks during his first five years with the Jets. Things started going downhill for him both on and off the field during the 2016 campaign, and it culminated in this release.

He should have a fairly robust market for his services this offseason, as there are surely teams that will believe they can tap back into his talent and do it without the headaches that he had in New York. Any team looking for an interior defensive lineman on a one-year prove-it deal is likely to reach out, though if he has multiple suitors, it is of course possible that Wilkerson gets a long-term offer as well, based on the talent ceiling he has shown during his career.

Meh...stud talent but he checked out when he got paid, and he'll get paid again because so many teams have an assload of money to spend and he's a big name.

Couple of names I find interesting. Poe and Vaccaro.

NE was pretty high on Vaccaro coming out of college and would prob do pretty well here. We can move on from the Richards and Chung/Ebner (when the time is right) and be set with DMC, Harmon and Kenny V. Then we can look to the draft for a young S to start to mold for when DMC leaves. Might cost some money, but I think it's worth it.

Poe would be a great Vet signing for the middle of the DL and might not cost that much. I can see him as a replacement for Branch. With VV coming back and the emergence of Butler...we could be set with these guys: Brown, Guy, VV, Butler, Poe...and of course we always look in the draft for the big fatty that can clog the middle.

The Pats also have Brandon King who's 6'2" 220 and can move. He's played on Special Teams for four years and did sub a few times for Chung. BB put him on the PS as a rookie and moved him up to take someone's place on ST and he's been on the roster ever since. He's never been beat badly when he's played safety but I'm not 100% sure whether or not he could play every down. In my opinion he's much better than Richard.

King is scheduled for restricted free agency. I don't see the Pats tendering him...even the lowest RFA tender is projected to be more than what they paid Slater this season. He hasn't shown enough to warrant that. More likely they either work out an extension with him laden with defensive playing time incentives beforehand, or they let him go into UFA and try to resign him for something close to the 3rd year veteran minimum.

If anyone would like to see who NE has talked to in Indy....

Patriots interview tracker: Find out who New England has talked to during the combine

No surprises. Looks like BB is looking at RB similar to Dion. Not sure if OT is for Solder or Cannon...

Apparently Garcia lost over 40 pounds due to blood clots in his lungs. Expected to make a full recovery, but damn that's fucked up. Solder should be #1 on the list of guys NE re-signs...

I could be wrong, but when Garcia was drafted by the Patriots, he had already lost 30 lbs and weighed in at 288 lbs when he was introduced at Gillette. If he lost another 40 lbs after that, he'd be down around 250 lbs soaking wet. So he's taking Plavix and probably some other meds to keep his heart stable and from excessive bleeding if he nicks himself shaving. Trying to put back 60 lbs of woorking muscle will be tough.

I had a new heart valve installed in January 2017. I was on Plavix to prevent clotting around the new valve for 9 months. I cut myself twice, once on my pinky finger and once on my forehead. The pinky was a mess for a 1/2" cut on the knuckle. The forehead looked like I'd been hit was a hatchet. Blood streamed down my face and all over my shirt. Nothing worse than a head wound for blood, even worse when your on a blood thinner. The forehead cut was about 3/8" long.......I walked into the corner of a open cabinet. Two butterfly stitches at the emergency room.

Garcia was playing at around 280-ish in college, he was up to 302 at the combine.

With the 49ers winning the toss to get the ninth overall pick, it means the Patriots’ second-round pick from San Francisco in the Jimmy Garoppolo trade will be 43rd overall.
