HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

PEORIA, Ariz. – The Mariners’ 2018 slogan is short, to the point and good. That’s not commentary, mind you – that is the slogan: Good.

“We’re pretty ‘Good,'” said Scott Servais when asked to expand on the new mantra.

Pirates signed OF Michael Saunders to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Saunders was an All-Star with the Blue Jays in 2016, but the 31-year-old outfielder batted just .202/.256/.344 with six home runs and 21 RBI in 73 games last season. He's worth a shot for the rebuilding Pirates.

Mantra should be incomplete. This the best offensive team (on paper) since 01 but they put very little resources into rounding out the rotation. Even if say they go to a 6 man rotation, the final 3 spots all have question marks with Lynn and Cobb hanging out there. Heck Odorizzi (SP?) was traded for a prospect on par with Mariners prospects. It's like they are going for it offensively but rebuilding with pitching staff, allowing guys who shouldn't be major league starters to go out and pitch and pray they develop.

I coached basketball and softball for many years at many levels and never once did I tell one of my teams before the season that we were 'Pretty Good'. We don't put in all that time and energy to shoot for pretty good. I never want that to be my mantra. Even if we weren't that good, I would lie. It is like he and DIP are just downplaying everything this year trying to keep expectations low but suggesting there is a chance. Usually they try to sell on overhyped expectations. SMH!

Ya, I just don't get their little slogans anyways but they didn't spend that much payroll to their offense to just be good. You're right usually they overhype what the season will bring and usually pessimistic fans get excited until the SOM comes out, now they haven't even given us a reason to go.

Report: Mariners to open the 2019 baseball season in Japan

---------------------------

I am sure that was agreed upon by DIP knowing they were a lock to get Ohtani...

Speaking of BBall apparently they are having the Kings play some preseason games up in key arena next year, which is really fucked up.

It's actually genius on the part of the NBA. If it sells out then they can leverage other cities, if it doesn't they have an excuse.

Or on a conspiracy level, since Leiweke probably had Silver do him a solid since he knows it's 90/10 that sports fans are against his arena.

Didn't Jerry talk about how fatigued the team gets from all of the travel?

I really want to, but I'm the petty guy who doesn't want to spend my money on a plan the city council went against their constituents. Plus I feel like it is a troll job being the Kings, I'd like it to be the Mavericks since Cuban voted to keep the Sonics against the Warriors because I love Klay.

Damn, didn't even see you like the Kings, ya totally get it on your part and why I don't really care people come to root for the Blue Jays. If you root for a team that's not the home team then you have to jump at the chance to see them. The Seattle Metro area is a melting pot for people who grew up fans of other teams.

I don't not won't begrudge anyone who would go to the basketball game or the hockey team when it comes. I just hate every single thing that has to do with the renovation of Key Arena (no matter how many times he says it isn't a renovation)

Hey unlv, what's up? I don't see you on here as much as past years. Busy working or just don't give a care as much like the rest of us? Whatever the case, always good seeing you on here even if not as often as before.

I can see it now.

-Didn’t pick up a FA SP...that’s ok, our current staff is “good”
-Didn’t make a trade at the deadline...that’s ok, we are currently doing “good”
-Didn’t make the playoffs again....that’s ok, we had a “good” year
